  • "We enjoyed a late summer holiday at Hilly Brow."

We had a lovely time, the house was beautifully decorated and very clean and comfortable. Everything that we needed was available from utensils and cooking equipment in the kitchen, fluffy pillows and extra throws and comfy beds in the bedrooms, hot showers with large towels, to dvds, books and games. The garden was beautifully maintained and a lovely spot to sit outdoors and relax. We really can’t fault anything, it’s very obvious that a lot of thought and care has been put into ensuring that guests have a relaxed and very happy holiday, we certainly did and would highly recommend.

Thank you for such lovely kind feedback. This means a lot. So pleased you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for being great guests and leaving the house so tidy! A big help! Property Owner

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at Hilly Brow ."

The beds were very comfortable, everything we needed , just like home from home . Loved the sunny garden , and when the sun came out ( late afternoon) it was lovely to sit out and have a glass of wine . Just a couple of minor things , the hot water , we thought, was scorching and could burn someone if they're not aware . Also , which was quite amusing nobody on the road seemed to know which bins to put out , there were quite a few ( all different) just left out all week ,. It was like hazard a guess as to which bin so we just put all out lol. All in all the owners should be proud of the lovely home they've created , lots of thoughtful little touches . Thank you

  • "We were without heating for 3 days and without hot water and showers for 1 day."

A small gesture of compensation for the inconvenience would have been appreciated

Unfortunately our boiler did go off, but I could not have done anymore to quickly resolve the situation. This guest did not inform me that there was no heating until the hot water went off 2 days later. Upon receiving the phone call from the guest I immediately rang 3 plumbers and booked the one who could come out the quickest. The boiler was fixed in a matter of hours of me finding out it was broken (not 3 days) I followed the advice of Sykes who said there was no need to offer compensation. I followed all their procedures. Property Owner

Hilly Brow is well set up to make things easy. Never had an ‘I wish we had remembered to bring’ moment as all you need there. Loved waking up to that view with a decent peek at the sea. Well managed property. Oh and the bonus of cake on arrival. A lovely treat.

  • "We had a wonderful week staying at Hillybrow."

It’s a well maintained beautiful house with a gorgeous garden. It’s comfortable and the decor is lovely. We felt really at home there. The 4 bedrooms are spacious and although not all bedrooms have a lot of storage space it was ok for us. The beds are all really comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped and washing/drying facilities in the garage are good. Being able to use the gas barbecue was great, as was being able to use the garage to store equipment/cases etc. The owners have obviously put a lot of thought and effort into making Hillybrow a wonderful place to stay. The position of the house was ideal for us. It was quiet, had parking spaces and was less than a five minute walk to the beautiful beach at Beadnell Bay. There’s a shop in the village for essentials, a good play park and a pub that does meals. We would all be more than happy to return to Hillybrow.

Mrs Latcham and her family were the perfect guests and we would welcome the back anytime! Thank you for such lovely feed back. Property Owner

The house is very comfortable and in a fantastic location. The garden is secure and private, and very safe for children. It is a lovely spot in which to sit and relax.Everything you could want is provided at the house, including board games for the children and dvds for all the family to enjoy if desired. The facilities are excellent with good sized bedrooms, one having en suite shower room and toilet. A good sized family bathroom with over bath shower also. We will definitely be returning sometime for a stay here. A nice welcoming touch also was the Cherry cake and box of tea bags which were left for us to enjoy.

It is just couple of minutes walk to Beadnell Bay at the end of the road, you can see the Bay Car Park from the bedroom window. Beadnell Bay is a wonderful place to spend time and is popular for all sorts of activities. The surrounding towns and villages are also very scenic and all are worth a visit. Hillybrow would be our first choice should we make a return visit.

About the location

BEADNELL

Seahouses 1.5 miles; Bamburgh 5 miles.

This attractive and peaceful harbour village is situated beside one of the most beautiful stretches of Northumberland’s Heritage Coastline - Beadnell Bay. Established in Saxon times, Beadnell was once an important fishing village and a smuggler's haven. Nowadays, it is still a fishing village, but is equally popular with holidaymakers who come to enjoy its pretty harbour and, of course, the nearby sandy beaches. The village has a shop, two pubs and a café serving food. Popular Seahouses is just over a mile away and has shops, a supermarket and restaurants, and it also offers boat trips from the harbour to the magnificent Farne Islands - a haven for bird watchers. Bamburgh is close by, whilst the market town of Alnwick with its Castle and Gardens, shops, pubs and restaurants is a short drive away.
