  • "Property was great."

Very clean and tidy, everything needed available. Freezer space in the fridges was lacking for a family of 6. The other downside was the grass had not been cut, so on arrival looked a bit unkempt. Also back lawn had lots of thistles, which was not good for kids. This was soon sorted out and everything was fine.

Hi, appreciate this feedback! Sorry about the grass, our gardener was in hospital and had missed the regular slot, glad it was sorted for you! We're looking to add some more freezer capacity to the property. Hope you were able to make use of the Ocean Club swimming pool and spa access? Hope you choose to stay with us again! • "In our opinion an excellent property, spacious, in a quiet road, easy walk to the beach, well located for all the Northumberland coastal AOONB."

We would not hesitate to return. Bunk room has useful space for children to play on the floor. Main TV is Sky Glass; easy to add our Netflix subscription. Note that there are two fridges under the central island, each with just a fast freezer drawer - not a fridge freezer. So there is plenty of fridge space but very little freezer space - do not bring or order any significant amount of frozen food. Note also that the photos are correct about the lack of a dining table - there are chairs, almost backless, round three sides of the island. These are OK for adults and school age children. Not sure about younger ones. Bear these points in mind and enjoy!

Hi, thank you for this . Shore Cottage only recently went back on the rental market after a complete refurbishment, so its great to get some feedback. We designed the kitchen area around our family of 6 (kids range from 5-14) and we can all sit comfortably around the kitchen island, for younger children there is a high chair available in the store. We thought about adding a separate dining area (other than the outside tables) but thought it would detract somewhat from the living space. Freezers were something we also thought about a lot, whether it would be better to have one fridge and one freezer or two fridges with freezer compartments. (We went with the latter as we don't tend to use much frozen food when we're away). Based on your feedback we'll look to add some extra freezer capacity somewhere. Thanks again, hope you choose to stay with us again Richard **Update** Large chest freezer added in garage / store Property Owner

The property

This well-presented bungalow sits in a quiet residential cul-de-sac within the harbour village of Beadnell, Northumberland.

Just a short walk from the glorious stretch of beach, Shore Cottage provides a wonderful escape for families looking to getaway to the coast.

Upon arrival you are greeted by off-road parking directly outside the property, so you can easily unload your belongings.

Step into the bright and airy open-plan living space, where you can make yourself comfortable on the sofa and discuss the plans for the holiday.

Perch yourself on the large island unit and keep the designated chef company as they rustle up a tasty feast, assisted by the electric oven and hob, fridge and freezer.

A back door leads to the enclosed patio garden, featuring a set of table and chairs from which you can enjoy a drink whilst the little ones roam the lawn.

As the night grows darker, wash away the day in the family bathroom, choosing between the bath or shower over, before retreating to either of the bedrooms.

The master hosts a double bed with TV and en-suite shower room, whilst there is also a bunk room and a twin room for the little ones.

Within just a short walk is the glorious seafront and beach, ideal for a range of watersport activities or to simply soak up the scene.

Rocky outcrops make the area scenic and there are some fantastic walking routes that provide a great way to discover the region.

After building up an appetite, pick up some fresh fish and chips or visit a local pub for a refreshing pint.

Hop in the car and visit the castles of Alnwick, Warkworth, Dunstanburgh and Bamburgh, whilst Northumberland Country Zoo and the Farne Islands is perfect if you’re looking to see unusual birds and even seals.

A memorable escape awaits at Shore Cottage.

About the location

BEADNELL

Seahouses 1.5 miles; Bamburgh 5 miles.

This attractive and peaceful harbour village is situated beside one of the most beautiful stretches of Northumberland’s Heritage Coastline - Beadnell Bay. Established in Saxon times, Beadnell was once an important fishing village and a smuggler's haven. Nowadays, it is still a fishing village, but is equally popular with holidaymakers who come to enjoy its pretty harbour and, of course, the nearby sandy beaches. The village has a shop, two pubs and a café serving food. Popular Seahouses is just over a mile away and has shops, a supermarket and restaurants, and it also offers boat trips from the harbour to the magnificent Farne Islands - a haven for bird watchers. Bamburgh is close by, whilst the market town of Alnwick with its Castle and Gardens, shops, pubs and restaurants is a short drive away.
