  • "Well located in Belford."

Handy for the Northumberland Coast and Scotland. The paintings in the school room at Ford and Eval are worth a visit. Will stay again.

Clean and comfortable. We were worried the house might be noisy which could have set our dogs off, but if was really quiet and well insulated

  • "Well located cottage being fussy I would suggest a bigger fridge as we couldn't fit our weeks worth of food and drink in the tiny fridge."

Also our dogs are fussy and the lack of grass on the patio caused us a problem. Other than these niggles everything else was great.

  • "We chose the property because of its location close to Bamburgh."

While we wouldn't describe Beggar's Den as luxurious, it was comfortable and well-equipped with everything we needed. The location, on an estate, at first seemed a bit off-putting, but the area was quiet and only the dawn chorus to listen to in a morning. We sampled the delights of the local chip shop's generous portions, walked miles on some superb beaches, and visited some lovely villages for a gentle stroll and some ice-cream. Berwick and Alnwick are each 13 miles away and worth a visit, as is Holy Island. I'm certain we will be heading 'up north' to for another break in the next few months.

  • "Comfortable house with a good television, important for my partner with the Euros to watch!"

I was glad of the conservatory, so nice to sit in to read quietly in the mornings and evenings. Just a short drive to Seahouses for sea trips to the Farne Islands and many other lovely places to visit nearby.

  • "We had a lovely stay."

Although located in an estate-like area, it is quiet and the location didn't matter when we were only staying there for the purpose of visiting elsewhere. Moreover, the 'elsewhere' was really close-by. I would recommend Beggars' Den to holiday-makers who just want a base from which to venture out - the house is not full of character, but it does not pretend to be (the conservatory is the best feature!). Plus, the coaching town it's in makes up for that. But, it's well situated and quiet. The Co-op being around the corner meant we didn't need to travel far for little things. There are spots to walk your dog before setting out, and there are many places that are close-by such as, Bamburgh, Seahouses, Wooler, and Cuthbert's Cave. Thank you :)

  • "This house is a bit dated but was very clean."

Really needs a much larger fridge ,we had to shop most days as it was so small & only two of us. Unfortunately it got quite cold last week & the storage heaters were not adequate. There were no instructions regarding how to deal with recycling ,only a bin inside but we'd no idea what should go into it. Otherwise comfortable wee house.
