  • "A lovely place with a wonderful view from the upstairs living area."

Very clean and tidy, with everything we needed being provided, and the beds and sofa were both wonderfully comfortable. Perhaps the only minor gripe was a couple of minor maintenance issues (a loose plug socket and a blown light bulb on the stairs) but nothing which spoiled our stay.

  • "We enjoyed our stay."

House was very comfortable and clean. Good base from which to explore Northumberland. Information pack of local services and restuarants would have been useful. Would recommend to friends and family.

  • "We throughly enjoyed our stay, a lovely holiday let which had lots of great facilities."

A great base to explore the surrounding area, with the playpark just over the road which we used daily and with amazing views across the Tyne valley. The thoughtful touches such as the local parking permit & washing tablets really helped to make our stay relaxing and stress free. We really appreciated the good Internet connection and have already recommend the property to family and friends and will be back, thank you.

The property was very clean, had very a comfortable bed and was lovely and warm. The open plan living area was spacious with wonderful views. I loved the kitchen area and it was fitted out beautifully. Thank you.

  • "The Aitches is a great location from which to explore the Tyne Valley, North Durham and Northumberland."

You can be walking on Hadrian's Wall after a 20 minute drive. Tyne valley bus shuttles between Newcastle and Hexham every 30 minutes and the bus stops are only yards away. The local petrol station (100 yards away) includes a convenience store and there is an Aldi near Prudhoe on the main road to Gateshead. The house itself is really well furnished (all John Lewis furniture and bed linen) and spotlessly clean. We would only note that in the directions to find the Aitches, West & East are mixed up. If you are travelling from Gateshead, you are coming from the East and the property is on your left; if from the West, the property is on your right. There was no notice about when bin collections would take place, so unfortunately we missed taking the recycling bin to the roadside. But we would definitely recommend the Aitches!

  • "The Aitches was a perfect little holiday cottage."

Everything was immaculately clean on arrival. Kitchen was well stocked with equipment. The views from the house are stunning and we were able to watch the beautiful sunsets each nights. This made a great base for our holiday. If you have kids I would recommend the short drive to Half Hill Farm as this was a fantastic day out. It was also only 45minutes to get to Whitley bay for a day out at the seaside. Closer to the cottage we did some nice walks and went down the Derwent reservoir which had a good playground as well being a lovely place for a walk. Thanks for a great first holiday post lockdown!

  • "This was our second visit to the Aitches, following an initial visit in 2019."

The property, once again, was absolutely spotless, Within it, the furnishings and contents are all you will need to make your week, in lovely Northumberland, both restful and memorable. Very much looking forward to returning.

  • "A lovely space with a beautiful view, ideally situated for exploring Hadrian's Wall."

The kitchen was reasonably well equipped and the kitchen utilities were excellent. If the owner is looking to make some simple improvements a second larger saucepan would be a useful edition, as would larger glasses for soft drinks.

  • "We really couldn’t fault The Aitches ."

.....the photos definitely didn't do it justice as it was even better than we expected. It had beautiful views over the valley from the first floor living area. The whole property was spotlessly clean and immaculate with quality furnishings and fixtures. Everything you could possibly need in a holiday rental property was available. The owner was exceptionally friendly and very welcoming. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay at The Aitches again and cannot recommend it highly enough.
