"The property was lovely and cosy and warm with wood supplied for the fire."
1 bottle of water supplied because it was advised not to use tap water wasn't really enough for a weeks' stay. Small things like tiny bit of washing up liquid and 1 toilet roll. Location was stunning and absolutely loved it.

"Fabulous property suitable for walks and adventures."
It was warm and cosy and everything you needed to make your stay perfect

"Very nice property would come again"

"A pleasant cottage with generally good facilities."
The central heating was rather temperamental and the owner wasn't able to reset it. It was disconcerting to find that water needed to be boiled for drinking only three days before departure. Inquiries were not answered as the team at Sykes/Northumberland Coast and Country cottages were'too busy' !! The location at Budle Bay is lovely. Only a few minutes walk from the beach with great views over the bay.

"The cottage had everything we needed and was very clean and comfortable."
It would be nice to have a picnic table outside No. 2 to enable people to eat outside, possibly round the back where you can see the sea or on the grass opposite. The current outside seating only has a view of the brick building. Great location for access to beach walks and the England coastal path and ability to walk to Bamburgh. Campsite shop and bar within walking distance. Lack of bins available for dog waste meant we had to put in the wheelie bin.

"Lovely property and exactly the comfort you would expect from a traditional Northumberland cottage."
We were blown away by the location, facilities, friendliness of owner and the fire- has to have a mention. Fantastic holiday, we are getting ready to book our next stay soon! Thanks Eric!

"We had a lovely relaxing week at budle bay cottage, easy access to the beach and also for exploring the surrounding areas It was lovely returning at the end of the day to a warm comfortable cosy little gem We have already booked a return visit in the summer."

"The cottage was wonderful, had all the comforts I needed."
Very clean and cosy. The situation was amazing being just a 5 minute walk from the beach and the view from the kitchen was fabulous, being able to see Lindisfarne castle. Also rabbits running around their warren in the field outside was a plus. Well placed for visiting places of interest. Would definitely visit again.

"We have had many holidays in Sykes cottages but I think this was the best."
It had everything we needed, including a friendly on site owner. Our only problem now is trying to decide when we could go back. I did not give full marks for description because the bathroom has been modernised and now has a walk in shower, which was better for us than the advertised over bath shower. Thanks for a great cottage Eric.

"We love the cottage it’s position is ideal."
Warm and cosy, our happy place. We’ve hired a number of times but first time staying it’s usually for our son and family we stay in kittiwake. We had friends with us so needed the 2 bedrooms. The fire is grand and the view from kitchen window stunning. So many places to visit , eat and walk and dream. Welly e back .

"The location is wonderful, next to the Budle Bay nature reserve and we've had many great stays in the area."
/\ First time at this property. It was dirty and poorly equipped and the unwillingness of the owner and Sykes to address the issues was very disappointing. The photos on the advert are not accurate. The living room has a different suite and rug to those shown, both in need of a deep clean. The bathroom has no bath - in spite of one showing in the photo . The wood burner is damaged inside and has no grate, relying on sand for a fireproof barrier. It was packed with oil painted wood for fuel. The smoke alarm is incorrectly and ineffectively positioned. The owners' response to the lack of cleaning products was to water down the remaining drop of washing up liquid they had supplied. Kitchen bins were crusty with old hardened food and were unlined. The bed frames revealed ingrained dirt and hair when we stripped the beds at the end of our stay. Over £400 for a 3 day stay in early December is not cheap and there is much better value to be found elsewhere. Avoid.

"A very comfortable stay with a warming log fire."
Lovely walk from the cottage down to the beach. Our little dog thoroughly enjoyed herself. Only downside was that nobody came at all during our stay to check that everything was OK or whether we needed anything. For me personal contact is so important.

"The cottage didn't dissapoint our second stay here this year."
The location is amazing for a get away from it all but within easy access of plenty of lovely places. The cottage has everything you could need . Photos need updating as lovely new shower and updated kitchen. We loved our stay and so did our dogs. Thank-you for letting us share this amazing quirky cottage.

"No2 Budle Bay is my favourite Cottage and location on the Northumberland coast."
Beautifully situated yards from the beach, with great walks and views across to Lindisfarne Castle where I had my wedding, views out of the cottage windows of the castle too. Cottage is very warm and comfortable one storey property. I love its old charm with traditional wallpaper and crockery that is much more appealing and better quality than any modern kitchenware. All kitchen/ living room appliances very good, only item that needs an upgrade is the DVD player. Large beautiful fireplace with great wood burner. So cosy! Can’t wait to return again!

"Excellent location."
Basic no frills accommodation. It's a shame that general maintenance let this property down. The accommodation could have been cleaner. Bottom of cupboards and utensils drawers needed a good wipe. The rug in the living area was stained and dirty. Overall the cottage could do with a good deep clean.

"A wonderful little holiday property."
Wonderful location, desirably old-fashioned yet offering modern conveniences. Strongly recommended.
-
"Lovely cottage bed a bit hard for us but a minor point."
We had a fabulous week the children enjoyed it. We booked three cottages as a family . We’ve been before and I’m sure we will b back.

"I didn't realise we hadn't left feedback from."
Our stay in May but our holiday was amazing and on our way back for another stay. The cottage is perfectly situated for a get away from it all break but everything within easy reach. The photos need updating as new bathroom and updated kitchen. Has everything you could need for a lovely break. Cottage is quirky in a nice way. Can't wait to go back. Thank-you for letting us share your lovely cottage. X

"A good property, well equipped and situated in a lovely setting"
-
"The property was lovely and cosy and in a fantastic location as so close to the beach!"
Loved walking down to the beach early for a walk with the dogs. Only slight complaint is there is not an enclosed garden as stated in the ad as it’s basically a driveway. for all the cottages. Didn’t bother us as we just took our dogs down the public footpath right behind the house but if it was warm weather and you wanted to enjoy a garden or sitting outside you would be disappointed!
-
"Really lovely stay, enjoyed the log fire and the location is perfect!"
Double bed could do with a mattress topper as mattress a bit hard for our preference. Good value for money we had a wonderful week.
-
"Had a great stay warm comfy and relaxing despite the weather would love to come again"

The interior is warm and welcoming with neutral décor, tasteful soft furnishings and beautiful features such as exposed beamed ceilings, picture windows, solid wood flooring and a traditional inglenook fireplace, which all add up to create a really inviting space.
Guests can kick off their shoes, curl up on the comfy sofa in front of the woodburning stove and get into the relaxing, holiday vibe.
There is an elegant dining area where you can sit down to enjoy long, leisurely meals prepared in the fully fitted kitchen.

About the location
BAMBURGH
Seahouses 3.5 miles; Beadnell 5.1 miles; Alnwick 16.9 miles.
The village’s sweeping sandy beaches and dramatic fortress - Bamburgh Castle - make Bamburgh one of Northumberland’s major visitor attractions. The castle can be seen for miles and dominates this part of the county’s coastline. Today it remains home to the family of the great Victorian industrialist Lord Armstrong, and is open to the public on a daily basis. Although overshadowed by the great castle, Bamburgh village is picturesque with neat grey stone cottages facing a manicured village green. There are excellent pubs, hotels with restaurants and a small selection of village shops. There are golf courses in Bamburgh and nearby Seahouses, and within easy reach are more wide sandy beaches, lovely fishing villages, stunning castles and coastal islands to explore along the dramatic Heritage Coast. There are numerous other attractions also a short drive away, including the famous Alnwick Castle and Gardens and the historic walled border town, Berwick-upon-Tweed. A superb base for exploring Northumberland.
