  • "Fabulous property in a fabulous location."

We can only echo the comments about cleanliness… we are not that house proud and we noticed dust and cobwebs across the cottage. We had no issue with the Kipper Smokery. Helpful to have off road parking. Great location for exploring the coastal path, beaches and castles. It was great to be able to walk out of the cottage and get to places. I wonder how useful any of this feedback is as the property is up for sale. We would happily come back…with a duster!

  • "The cottage was very pretty and the décor tasteful and creative."

We liked the location and the bed linen and towels were of good quality. Only comments rather than grumbles, were that the front and back door keys were difficult to operate and an extra set would have been useful, as there were two of us and wanting to do different things at times. Also the key safe is quite rusty and we had trouble opening it on arrival and when we left. It is a quiet location which was perfect. Lovely, spacious rooms and we loved it and could have stayed another week. Thank you!

Thank you for your kind comments .. glad you appreciate our decor !! We love it too !! We’ll check out the key safe and hopefully get it sorted ! Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage, excellent location."

Great walks from the cottage. Good facilities at the cottage. Although the bathroom and kitchen were clean the rest of the house could have done with a spring clean thick dust balls under the bed. No mattress cover on the bed.

So sorry you had that problem. I’ve alerted the cleaning team to the issues. Thank you for flagging them to me. Property Owner

  • "The information did not mention a fish smoking business at no."

2 south street, we were in no. 3. the property fell far below expected standards. Main examples -- vast amounts of dust & fluff, obviously accumulated over months, not weeks! cobwebs everywhere. a disused freezer in the wardrobe /as well as large bag of who knows what & other items reducing usable space. Under the main bed was a large black bag & storage boxes harbouring the largest quantity of fluff. The cottage is situated within easy access to amenities. however, in it's current state, i would not recommend this property.

  • "The cottage itself is lovely, fantastic location."

BUT the beds were so uncomfortable I couldn’t sleep in the large bed as when my husband moved the whole mattress moved in a ripple effect.I then slept in the single bed which collapsed around 6am, also uncomfortable. Bed was mended but didn’t sleep well. Decided to cut our losses and left a day early having found alternative accommodation. Also my husband had to repair the toilet seat which came away from the toilet on more than one occasion. Wouldn’t use the cupboards as they were full of out of date sauces and spices. I don’t want people’s old food even more so since covid. Really hate to complain but can’t understand how this has been allowed to happen, never had problems in the past with cottages.
