The delightful village of Seahouses is right on the doorstep with a good selection of shops and eateries with boat trips to the Farne Islands available where you can see unusual birds and even seals.
The village of Bamburgh is well worth a visit too, famous for its imposing castle but which also has a good selection of shops and amenities.
Close by there are miles of sandy beaches to explore and further afield there are magnificent castles to discover such as Dunstanburgh, Warkworth, Lindisfarne and Cragside, Towns worth a visit include the historic market town of Alnwick; Alnmouth known for its excellent golf course; and the farming hamlet of Howick which is known for being the birthplace of Earl Grey tea.
