  • "We had a great stay here at Shepards Cottage!"

Everything you could think of was available. The only negative was the sound of the boiler in the double bedroom downstairs, it did wake us through the night unfortunately. We slept downstairs due to the sloped ceilings in the upstairs bedroom, we found it was better upstairs for the kids so they enjoyed the large bedroom instead! Our golden retriever had the best time here too, we would be happy to return one day!

The views out to the surrounding countryside are fantastic. A couple of minutes drive into Rothbury or you can take the footpath across the golf course which takes around 15 minutes. Very well situated for exploring Northumberland. We had a wonderful time, thank you

  • "We had another lovely stay at the cottage."

The views are amazing and to see and hear all of the birds is joyous. The one thing as others have mentioned is the lack of privacy of the downstairs bathroom window. Loving the stable door and everything else. Thank you for a memorable holiday.

  • "Excellent cottage in a beautiful location."

Quiet and peaceful but within walking distance to Rothbury. We'll equipped and very clean and comfortable. Really enjoyed our stay. The only issue was that the downstairs bathroom had clear glass in the window and there is a public footpath within feet of the property,so we had to close the window blind when using the bathroom!

  • "Beautiful property, the most amazing views."

Secure garden for your dog. The property had everything you can think of provided (there were even some birthday cake candles!). Beautifully clean and with the living area second to none. The bedrooms are great, the one upstairs has a low roof but you can see that on the pictures and it didn’t bother us at all we just just careful! Only complaint is the hard mattresses on all of the beds. This might be be the only thing that stops us booking again.

  • "What a lovely cottage."

So very clean and comfortable and a smashing welcome pack. The views from all the windows are amazing and Rothbury such a good place to visit. On the Saturday Highland Pipers were playing there. The Italian and Indian restaurants are particularly good. National Trust Cragside was just up the road - we went twice to take the lovely 6 mile carriage drive. Devastation of the trees was dreadful after Storm Arwen. Also ventured up the coast to all the seaside villages and further down the coast to Cullercoats which was surprisingly nice. Cresswell Bay very nice too. In all, wonderful scenery all the way round and you will not be disappointed with all the amenities in Shepherd's Cottage

  • "Very clean, lovely area and a great stay."

Would’ve liked to have known that the cottage was in a complex of other holiday cottages as we were looking for something a little more secluded and it’s not in the description but a good week had by all and a great rental.

The walk into Rothbury takes around 15 minutes across a golf course and riverside. Rothbury itself is very pretty with all the shops and pubs you might want. Would not hesitate in returning and recommending this cottage.
