    We love coming here, the cottage is very clean and tidy, with everything you require. Pat (the owner) is an absolute delight and is so helpful. She will go out her way to help. I have already left a review in the past so I don't want to repeat myself too much. What I would say is that anyone who is thinking of staying here to please not take much notice of any negative comments regarding Ivy Cottage (not that there are many) I think people's expectations are just different, and people want a bit too much sometimes,. However if you are looking for a peaceful holiday in a place that is clean, presentable, quiet and very friendly then do not look any further than Ivy Cottage. (In January next year the cottage is being completely redecorated as well) For anyone worrying about the train line, this really is not a problem, from the bedrooms you cannot hear them as they face the back, and even in the lounge you can just hear a slight rumble as they pass, it has never been a problem for us or 90% of other guests that stay here on looking through other reviews. Thank you Pat as always, and we very much look forward to our New Year Visit!!

A delightful traditional cottage in the centre of Chathill village.

This lovely cottage has been tastefully refurbished to retain much of the original character and is sympathetically decorated and furnished to a high standard.

The ground floor double bedroom has an en-suite, and upstairs is a family bathroom, perfect for relaxing after exploring the marvellous coast and countryside in this area.

Cosy, yet well-equipped and spacious, this cottage has a working farm to the rear and is a great option whether travelling by train or by car, being just a short walk from the East Coast Main Line railway station, and just off the road through the village.

Whether heading to the Heritage Coast, the market town of Alnwick or discovering the breathtaking Cheviots, this cottage makes a wonderful base.

Chathill is a small rural hamlet comprised of little more than a farm and a few houses. It is sited only 3 miles from attractive and peaceful Beadnell, which lies on one of the most beautiful stretches of Northumberland's magnificent Heritage Coast. Once a smugglers’ haven, Beadnell is now a fishing village, popular with holidaymakers who come to enjoy its pretty harbour. Central to all rural North Northumberland and within easy driving distance of the nearby glorious sandy beaches between Seahouses (where boat rides can be booked for the spectacular Farne Islands) and Bamburgh Castle, Alnwick, Holy Island and the Scottish Borders, there is plenty to see and do.
