We have been three times now and the level of quality is consistently great. Just a lovely cosy cottage in a lovely quiet village.

  • "Fantastic holiday cottage, the owner’s have thought of everything you could ever need."

A lovely welcome pack was provided on arrival , with wine, coffee, eggs, crisps, biscuits, milk and an assortment of jams! It was spotless and in a lovely sunny position. The only thing people need to be aware of is that the bathroom is 50 steps away from the bedroom , so if you need to visit it during the night you have to go down the stairs across the lounge and through the kitchen ! We didn’t realise this on booking. This is the only negative we have other than this it was fabulous.

  • "We had a great week in Lime Tree Cottage."

Beautiful area. Lovely walks. So much to see and do a week was not long enough. The cottage had everything we needed was very comfortable and welcoming. Lovely place to come back to after a day out. The village is small local shop well supplied. A car is a must as you would struggle to explore otherwise.

  • "Very pretty cottage in a lovely village location with shop and pub close by."

Friendly locals. Spotlessly clean accommodation. The welcome pack was very generous with lovely ground coffee, tea, biscuits and wine. Eggs and milk in the fridge. Very good standard of furnishings. Homely feel. For us there were a few negatives. The parking area at the back of the cottage is very tight and any vehicle bigger than a small saloon car will not fit. You need to be pretty confident in reversing into a tight space which is shared by a neighbours car too- best to park on the road out front. There is no toilet upstairs so if you need a trip to the loo in the night it is a walk downstairs, through the lounge, through the kitchen to the bathroom at the back of the property. Pretty disruptive to a nights sleep and may not suit older or less mobile people. There is very little room around the double bed - maybe 12 inches between the bed and the walls so anyone larger will not be able to get past the bedstead. If there things don't worry you then it's a good place to choose for a countryside holiday close to the coast .

  • "A very nice cottage in a nice location."

Only one slight niggle, the main bedroom was a bit of a tight squeeze around the bed. I feel that anyone larger than us may struggle to move around it. Other than that one small thing it was an extremely well presented, comfortable and well equipped cottage.

  • "Beautiful cottage."

The owners had clearly thought a lot about making the stay a pleasant one with a range of books, films and even binoculars. The kitchen had a supply of dish washer tablets and detergent for the washing machine, in fact everything you could need. Fantastic welcoming touches too with fresh flowers, milk and wine, crisps and biscuits. Would love to go back sometime and would recommend Lime Tree Cottage to anyone looking for a home from home.

The only, very small, thing that would have made it even better was if there had been some lights in the living room for reading rather than having to rely on the overhead lights. A small thing only!

  • "Luxurious lovely cottage with everything you could need."

The log burner is fantastic for warming and creating that cottage feel. The starter logs lasted the first evening. We bought more in Alnwick the next day. The heating made the rest of the cottage just as cosy. The beds were comfy and we all slept well both nights. The cottage was so lovely we opted to stay in and spend our weekend laughing and catching up. The kitchen is very well supplied with all utensils and we had everything needed to cook our m&s meal deals on the first evening. The second night we went to the nearby pub which is about 100ft from the cottage. They serve a lovely range of contemporary meals and we all really enjoyed dinner. We all loved the whole weekend and are planning to go back to the cottage next year. No negatives at all from this property or the owner who is lovely and couldn’t have been more helpful.
