"The bedroom floors were not clean, found a broken zip and hairclips just walking into room."
The kitchen area around microwave had a lot of food crumbs. But the main problem was how small the property was. To get into bed you had to wiggle in sideways, room was very dark even with lights on. To get dressed you had to go into another room, if you are in your twenties you can maybe get your socks on whilst hopping but I can't. Also no where to put cases, which had clothes in so had to move them from bed to settee in evening, not ideal. Lovely area but this cottage not for us.

"Lovely lodge in a quiet and peaceful setting."
Lodge had everything we needed. Plenty of walks within easy driving distance and stunning scenery. Also some woodland across the road to walk where I saw lots of deer what walking early morning. Upon arrival we did find all the bins were completely full I rang sykes cottages who contacted the owner. Owners Contacted me very quickly and arranged for bins to be emptied the next day. Appreciated the speed of response and was impressed with the customer service. Definitely recommend.

"The property was very clean and comfortable, and very well equipped."
Very cosy with the log burner. The only bad side was that the refuse and recycling bins were overflowing, don't seem to get emptied regularly.
-
"The lodge is warm cosy and very well equipped in a lovely quiet setting."
The lodge was clean and the addition of wood burning stove was a lovely addition.i shall definitely be recommending to friends and family.

"Very comfortable chalet in a very nice area."

"A nice cabin tucked away in the woods."
Everything we needed for a week's stay. Peaceful and quiet, a good place to chill out and relax.
-
"The cabin is beautiful, lovely decoration, and well equipped."
The surrounding area is beautiful. We’ll definitely be back to stay again. So cosy and peaceful.

"Well tucked away, no light pollution, plenty of bird life to feed."
Comfy and warm. Excellent wi fix which we was not expecting. Nice relaxed week.

"We has a great stay at Nutkin Lodge, It is beautifully decorated and furnished and is very well equipped with everything that you could need."
The lounge is very comfortable and we enjoyed using the log burner on cooler evenings. The bathroom is lovely and the walk in shower is great although there's not quite enough hot water for two people to have showers immediately one after another. The kitchen has everything you would need to cook and prepare meals and we appreciated the dishwasher. The cottage was really clean too, the cleaners do a very good job at keeping it nice for the owners. The bed linen and towels seemed very new and were very clean and fresh and unlike some holiday lets, there was a good stock of towels. It's well situated, being out of the way of a village in a quiet spot but close enough for shopping and to get to the coast easily too. Coldingham Bay is lovely and so is St Abbs. We also enjoyed a trip to North Berwick and to Berwick. Our only slight complaint would be that the mattress on the double bed should be replaced, it's quite saggy in places and not very supportive and the little knobs for hanging towels etc off would be better replaced with hooks as they are two small to easily hang towels from. Apart from that, the cottage was lovely and we will return.

"It would be good to have a clothes horse as nowhere to hang wet towels & beach wear."
Also a book to write change over details ie. Light bulbs needing to be replaced or new clock batteries needed?
-
"Lovely lodge tucked away so great privacy."
I missed it didn’t have a washing machine so didn’t take quite enough clothes, but we had a great week, lovely decor, great shower and overall 5* from us.

"The lodge was lovely and in a really relaxed position."
Weather was pretty good and the wildlife was amazing. Eyemouth is a great town and great seeing the seals when the boats came in.

"Nutkin Lodge is a gorgeous little cabin, it was probably our favourite place we've ever stayed - it was immaculately clean."
All linen, blankets, towels provided felt brand new. They've taken the covid rules very seriously which was very reassuring. It was the most well equipped self-catering place that we've been to - they've really thought of everything. The fire pumps out an incredible amount of heat, making it super cosy. Our only two comments for improvement are that the heater in the master bed seemed to be a bit temperamental and didn't always work when switched on (but we didn't really need it) and an oven glove would be very useful! Otherwise, we had an amazing time as did our two wee boys and our dog. We will definitely be back!

"A great cottage which met our needs; well appointed and with excellent furnishings."
It is located on the Press Castle estate alongside several other cottages but feels very secluded in the woods near the burn. We were impressed by the 'rain' shower in the bathroom and great hot water output. The beds were extremely comfortable with memory foam mattresses. The kitchen whilst compact was well served with all dishes and a reasonably sized fridge, small dishwasher (which we didn't anticipate - added bonus!) and even a cafetiere for our morning coffee. Cosy open plan lounge with a DVD player which meant we could enjoy a movie in the evening (which we had brought from home). The log burner meant that after an October afternoon at Coldingham beach bodyboarding, we were warmed up quickly. Overall an excellent quiet holiday home and one which my son refers to as the 'cosy cottage'! We would love to go back!

"This cottage is in the woods so not much sunlight, but a very quiet location."
The badgers were amusing particularly as they triggered the security light at night, first time it went off was a bit of a surprise, but nice to see them anyway.
-
"The towels were all stained and had a stale smell to them so we purchased our own as we were not willing to use those provided."
Thank you for your feedback, we were disappointed to hear that you found linen that doesn't not match our usual high standard. All of our towels a laundered professionally and we would have been very happy to exchange and refresh the towels had we known at the time, I have notified the cleaning team. We hope that you enjoyed your stay never the less and hope to welcome you back in the future. Property Owner

"A lovely spot and we had a nice time there, cabin great."
Only issue was it was slightly misleading in its listing. It is right next to a road and there are several other cabins close by. We got it because our son is interested in nature and we thought, from the listing, it was in the middle of a wood (with deer in) which, whilst there are trees around, it was not really and we couldn’t walk the dog off lead as we’d hoped. The other issue was that the toaster was broken and kept fusing the electrics (at the weekend so we couldn’t call Sykes) but there was no contact number locally. That said, it was still a nice holiday and the Nutkin lodge was the most private and the lodge itself inside was perfect.

"Its a beautiful lodge in a wonderful quiet area."
We enjoyed the peace and serenity and the cheeky squirrel on the peanut feeder. Very near Berwick so convenient for shopping but also not too far from Edinburgh (about 49 miles). We ventured up to the Cairngorms which was easily done in a day so staying at the lodge gave us a good base. We had a dog with us and he loved the nearby beaches.
-
"Cosy, clean, comfortable wooden lodge in a sheltered, quite private situation."
Be aware that there is no wifi and poor mobile phone reception if these things are important to you, but there are books, board games and TV. A lovely retreat. We visited Banbury, Etal, Ford, Kelso and Melrose, would like to return more ‘in season’.

"We both needed a break and Nutkin Lodge was perfect for a few days of peace and comfort."
Although there were gales Nutkin Lodge nestled in a wood which meant that we were completely unaware of any turbulence at all. The bed was incredibly comfortable and snug. We used the logs that were left for us on the wood burning stove and the place was idyllic and cosy. The logs we bought from the shop in Coldingham were damp and so didn’t burn. There were only two of us and our two dogs and it was perfect for all of our needs. I am not sure how 4 people would have managed in the space. Nutkin Lodge is well appointed with good attention to detail and it is situated with easy access to the sea at St Abbs, Coldingham Bay, North Berwick and Eyemouth. I would be happy to stay there on my own. Now that I am back into the daily flow of life the image of Nutkin Lodge comes to my mind and with it arises a real feeling of calm and peace . Thank you I have already recommended it to my friends.

"Could do with a soap/shower gel caddy in the shower."
Also some sort of seat in the bathroom, (my wife has an artificial leg and it was difficult to wash & shower in the bathroom. Apart from that it was v good and we would stay there again.
-
"A comfy well equipped cabin in the grounds of Press Castle."
A little on the small side for us as we have 2 medium sized dogs so a vacuum cleaner would be a handy addition. Plenty of places to visit within a 20/30 minute drive, or just take a leisurely walk around the estate grounds. Would recommend if you want to escape to the peace & quiet of the country with the coast 15 mins away.
-
"We both loved Nutkin Lodge."
Although it is situated on a small estate the lodge is completely private, the grounds are lovely and the cottage itself is beautifully decorated and well equipped. We found it to be a perfect location for enjoying the coast and for visiting Edinburgh, which is 50 minutes drive away. Our only reservation is that we found the bed quite uncomfortable, but that's personal preference rather than a fault in the accommodation itself. Nutkin Lodge's secret beauty is the range of birds in the garden, they were an absolute pleasure to watch.

"The lodge was perfect and so peaceful, there were 4 adults and 1 small dog."
The location was good for where we wanted to go, our holiday was perfect thank you. One comment i will make the bins outside were full when we arrived and were still not emptied in the time we were there. Carole drewry.

"We were unaware that the lodge was one of several on the press castle estate."
we believed there would be a garden area safe for the dogs, the track road was used by many. however we would highly recommend nutkin lodge, we had a wonderful holiday. thankyou.
-
"Nutkin lodge is positioned in a great location, set within a wooded area."
The lodge is warm and cosy with all facilities. There are good walks within the estate itself. One thing to remember, there is no popping down the rode for a bottle of milk,as shops are not on the doorstep. Just read the reviews and you will see how popular the Lodge is and its all true.
-
"Just a lovely, beautifully furnished cottage in s tucked away corner of what had been an old estate."
Warm, immaculately clean and very peaceful as no WiFi. You do have to drive short distances to such as St Abbs, Coldingham beach and village with two pubs. Eyemoutg further away and Berwick well worth a visit for its history and comprehensive shopping facilities.
