  • "This is a charming little cottage in the heart of Coldstream."

A good base to enjoy Northumberland and the Scottish Borders. Access to the courtyard parking off the street is tricky particularly as we have a long estate car. Parking is shared in the courtyard with 3 other cars and our allotted space was tight against the wall of Horseshoe Cottage which was fine. Reversing off the street was the best option. The neighbours were extremely friendly and welcoming.

My apologies for my late reply to your lovely feed back. Thank you. The reason why i have put no parking because of the tricky entry and departure of the court yard. I really do not want any cars damaged due to parking.... So glad that my neighbours were friendly towards you... They are nice people... I look forward to hopefully seeing you again in Coldstream. Warmest wishes Sharon Property Owner

The host was charming and called us in advance to check what we needed - down to whether we preferred red or white wine. There was nothing lacking in the kitchen so all in all a great place to stay.

Thank you so much for your fantastic feedback and i a so pleased you enjoyed your stay. I look forward to seeing you in the future. Best wishes. Sharon Property Owner

  • "A lovely cottage in a great location."

There are local shops and great walks in the countryside just 5 mins walk from your door. The cottage itself was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well set up and had plenty options for cooking during our stay. There were plenty of board games for keeping our little one happy too! The owner was great when we had a few questions and had lots of local knowledge of where to go, visit etc. A great holiday cottage, would recommend!

Thank you for this great feed back and i do hope you find your move to the Scottish Borders all that you wish it to be. Best Wishes for the future. Sharon Property Owner

About the location

COLDSTREAM

Cornhill-on-Tweed 2 miles.

Home to the famous Coldstream Guards, the pretty borders town of Coldstream sits on the northern bank of the River Tweed, and was once a rival to Gretna Green for runaway marriages. There is a museum dedicated to the Guards, a good selection of shops and pubs, or visitors can try their hand at a variety of activities, including cycling, fishing, golf, riding or walking in the beautiful surrounding countryside. The picturesque seat of The Earls of Hume, including former Conservative Prime Minister Alec Douglas-Home, is The Hirsel, an estate to the west of the town with a fine mansion in beautiful grounds through which flow the Leet Waters, famous for a wide range of birds which nest there. With the Scottish borders and North Northumberland easily accessible, this is a fantastic base from which to make the most of the region.
