  • "Ideal location for cities, countryside and coast."

    A beautiful cottage and we enjoyed feeding the chickens. It would have been helpful to be advised to turn off A1M at junction 67 as well as the name of the junction. We could definitely not have crept about as the floorboards creaked. Would definitely re-visit if we go to the area again.

  • "Lovely, warm and comfortable converted barn."

    Well equipped in a great location for exploring the NE and Newcastle. Really enjoyed the lack of light pollution and noise at night! Ensured a great nights sleep! Lovely local walks around the farm to easily exercise the dog. Would recommend. Thank you :)

Bowes Barn is a fabulous two-storey barn conversion resting on a working arable farm in the village of Kibblesworth, County Durham.

With easy access to the cities of Newcastle, Sunderland and Durham, this property is the ideal base for small families or couples looking to explore the North East.

Finished to a high standard with both contemporary and traditional features, such as the exposed stone walls, the cottage is a lovely cottage offers a great place to return to after a day of sightseeing.

The downstairs is entirely open-plan consisting of a well-equipped kitchen, dining and sitting area.

Upstairs there are two well-presented bedrooms; a double and single, served by the family bathroom with bath, shower over, basin and WC.

To the outside is a private patio where you can enjoy a refreshing drink while reflecting upon your holiday so far.

These modern stone-built barn conversions rest on an established holiday site and working family farm just outside the rural village of Kibblesworth. The two dwellings have been designed to offer groups of couples, friends and families the opportunity to relax amongst the rolling hills of Northumberland whilst still having easy access to the cities of Durham, Newcastle upon Tyne and Sunderland. Spend your evenings in the sitting rooms and cosy up with your loved ones reminiscing about the day’s events whilst the TV hums in the background. Settled in the charming County Durham within the North East of England, you will find the delightful village of Ouston. Home to a local newsagents selling all the household essentials, two well-established pubs and a tasty takeaway, this village has everything you could ever need during your stay. Spend a day at the nearby popular living museum of Beamish and learn what life was like in the North East during the 1820's, all the way up to the 1940's. Venture into the city of Sunderland for a spot of shopping and a bite to eat before exploring the magnificent Winter Gardens and wandering the grounds to the 18th-century Hylton Castle.
