The property was ideal for a very comfortable stay in a beautiful location with a great view from the open plan kitchen/living room. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking. This is a ideal house for anyone wanting to explore the coastal paths or to visit nearby Alnwick. Highly recommended.

"What a lovely property 1 Orchard Cottages is."
It’s modern, spacious, open plan with fabulous full length windows making it light & airy but lovely leather sofa & wood burning stove makes it cosy after dark too. Well equipped kitchen, super comfy beds, so tidy throughout & very clean. Everything & more for a relaxing week away. Near enough to Craster & the coastal path & an amazing dark sky with the added bonus for us, a view of the Northern Lights! Can’t wait to visit again.

"This is the perfect property in the perfect location for a stay on the Northumberland Coast."
It is walking distance to Craster, Dunstanburgh Castle, Howick Hall (Circular Walk) and many more. It’s a short drive from Amble and Berwick upon Tweed and all points in between. The cottage is modern, clean, comfortable and extremely well equipped. It also has the most amazing views. The cherry on the cake is the Cottage Inn pub and restaurant which is a short stroll away and serves hearty meals at a very reasonable price. Perfect.

"A pure slice of paradise."
Parking is easy. The owners are delightful and very friendly. Everything you could ever need was there, and I mean everything. The en suite bed was uber comfortable along with cool cotton bedding. The furniture and decor is impeccable. The kitchen is incredible in its contents. BUT, best of all, the view and the silence

"Lovely property, clean and extremely well equipped."
Tastefully decorated and laid out. Great location, very quiet, peaceful and relaxing but still close to good walks and all the sights of Northumberland. Would highly recommend.
-
"Superb cottage in a great location within easy walking distance of the coast."
Lots of places to visit nearby. Great local places to eat. House is very modern with all the equipment we could wish for, including a gas BBQ. House is also eco-friendly and best of all for an allergy sufferer, no pets allowed - apart from the local rabbits and deer! Lovely welcome pack on arrival and great art work by the owner. If we visit the area again we would definitely stay here again.
-

Prefect for a relaxing time indoors and offers multiple outdoor seating options. In a great location with footpaths and cycle routes very close by, including to the coast, Craster and beyond.

About the location
CRASTER
Alnwick 7 miles; Embleton 3 miles.
A picturesque village that seems to tumble into the sea, Craster was an important fishing harbour in the 17th century and is still famous for its oak cured kippers which have graced the best breakfast tables for more than 150 years. The village offers a pub serving food, a fish restaurant and Robson's famous fish shop. There is also an excellent children's playground. Nearby are some of Northumberland's finest sandy beaches. Just south of Craster is Howick Hall, which was built in 1782 and has associations with the Grey family, including Earl Grey the great social reformer and tea enthusiast. The gardens at Howick Hall are open to the public during the spring and summer and are especially worth a visit during the rhododendron season. A walk along the coastal footpath to the north of Craster brings you to the dramatic ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle - the largest ruined castle in Northumberland.
