  • "We had a fabulous family holiday."

Great Coach House with everything you needed and more. Lovely and warm to come back to after a day exploring. Plenty of space for 10 people - 3 generations. Children enjoyed feeding the chickens. Great location. Would really recommend. The welcome pack was just what we needed to kick start the holiday. Thanks Darren for a great stay.

  • "The coach house is on the face of it is a nice quirky large property suitable for large or small groups with plenty of room, while it is rustic being an old property our experience was not a good one, we were left four days without any hot water, the owner was contacted numerous times but did nothing, other than to suggest running the water for a very long time."

This ruined the holiday and experience, when I personally contacted the owner via text there wasn't even an apology so I feel I have no option but to leave a negative review and sadly would not recommend, this holiday was booked for me via a friend to be a low stress experience for me, it was sadly anything but that. Darren

This isn’t quite true, is it? There was ample hot water for all the showers. Unfortunately a sticking timer meant there was no hot water for a bath for two days. This was quickly remedied. You weren’t the person who booked the holiday. In fact I’ve no idea who you are. If you check with your friend who did book, you will find they texted me twice…not “numerous” times. They were extremely dramatic and rude, turning what was really a minor inconvenience into a catastrophe. They were offered the chance to leave but instead wanted to continue complaining for a, by then, non-existent problem. No mention of the wine, chocolate, flowers, eggs and fruit left for you, the comfortable warm house with its great location. Let’s hope you never have to experience a real drama…..I can’t imagine how you’d cope. Oh and thanks for leaving both ovens covered in thick grease. That to me, is a real catastrophe. I have no idea how I will cope! Property Owner

  • "We enjoyed a wonderful 70th birthday party here."

Accommodation was spacious for 8adults, 2small children and a dog. Bedroom at the front is near the road but traffic noise is not an problem but no bathroom adjacent to this room. Superb king size beds and plenty of towels, hot water and heating. More glasses would be ideal. Loads to see in local area and beyond. We had fabulous meals at local pub and in Collingwood Arms. Owner was on hand to deal with any issues-mixer part of kitchen tap came away and caused a temporary water fountain! We would recommend this property.

  • "We wanted a break to suit our family needs and wishes: downstairs bedroom and bathroom for aged parents, an open fire or log burner, a dining table for eating and jigsaw puzzles and a decent kitchen."

The Coach House met all of this and provided excellent comfort. Everyone commented on the quality of the beds and bathrooms, it's fabulously spacious, easy access and parking. The Bluebell Inn just a two-minute walk provided great meals and the trips to Berwick and Kelso were easy. Darren is an excellent host and made sure everything was fine for us during our stay. We would recommend the cottage to others and we will certainly consider a future stay.
