The setting is lovely, a tranquil spot but close to lots of walks and bike rides. Comfortable, clean and warm, detached Cottage with large open garden onto private woodlands ( you are asked to avoid these as they belong to neighbour). However, walk just a few hundred yards down quiet lane and you have direct access onto footpaths through woods and along river. We would love to return to this cottage but the property nolonger accepts pets unfortunately. Thank you so much for your kind feedback and thank you for leaving the cottage so clean and tidy! See the imposing Leaderfoot Viaduct as you cross on over to the centre of Melrose and discover Melrose Gardens, The Trimontium Museum Trust and the medieval remains of Melrose Abbey. Explore the National Trust for Scotland's Priorwood Garden, or take your four-legged friends for a stroll around Dryburgh Abbey. Spot Smailholm Tower and William Wallace Statue as you venture through the wonderful terrains of Bemersyde Moss, or admire the grandeur of the 19th -century architecture of Bowhill House.
