  • "Fabulous base for exploring the beautiful surrounding area."

Very warm welcome from the owners and the coach house itself is comfortable, spacious, well-equipped and homely. It is a short walk into Craster and onto the coastal path. Alnwick is a 10 minute car drive away with great local shops and supermarkets. Would thoroughly recommend this lovely holiday home. Great tips and advice about local cafes and pubs from the owners too - thank you.

The owner was extremely welcoming and very understanding of a travel problem that meant we had to make some changes to the key collection and access to the property. The property was ideal for quiet and relaxation with stunning countryside and excellent local resources. We would definitely go back again. Seriously, people should not miss this property as it is a gem!

  • "Thank you to Victoria for welcoming us and making our stay pleasurable."

Our family party of five adults had a fantastic time at Craster Tower Coach House. The accommodation was spacious and we enjoyed the luxury of having three ensuite bathrooms. The private garden looked lovely but sadly in March we couldn't take advantage of it. The location was good for walking and visiting attractions and the local pub/restaurant, The Jolly Fisherman Inn is a short walk.

Super cosy property with a bonus of a big log burner, very comfortable king size bed and invigorating shower to the ground floor en-suite. Great walks from the door. Safe and secure parking outside the property. Super peaceful. Also you have access to your own garden which is great. The owner is very friendly and welcoming she gave us a very interesting potted historical tour of this beautiful property. Would highly recommend.

  • "Characterful cottage in beautiful location."

Set in wonderful wooded grounds of the main house with a sea view. The property had been sympathetically renovated and had everything you could wish for. There was a delightful garden for private use which was lovely to sit in and have a drink. A footpath crossed the fields to the village of Craster so you could avoid walking on the road. The four of us and a dog had a thoroughly enjoyable stay.

About the location

CRASTER

Alnwick 7 miles; Embleton 3 miles.

A picturesque village that seems to tumble into the sea, Craster was an important fishing harbour in the 17th century and is still famous for its oak cured kippers which have graced the best breakfast tables for more than 150 years. The village offers a pub serving food, a fish restaurant and Robson's famous fish shop. There is also an excellent children's playground. Nearby are some of Northumberland's finest sandy beaches. Just south of Craster is Howick Hall, which was built in 1782 and has associations with the Grey family, including Earl Grey the great social reformer and tea enthusiast. The gardens at Howick Hall are open to the public during the spring and summer and are especially worth a visit during the rhododendron season. A walk along the coastal footpath to the north of Craster brings you to the dramatic ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle - the largest ruined castle in Northumberland.
