“Just back from a very relaxing week away in Holly Cottage.”

The rooms are very generous in size and it's a very comfortable place to hang out. I loved the large kitchen-diner with everything you needed to cook up a roast dinner or do baking with the kids. The utility room is great with a washing machine, dryer and plenty of space to dry damp clothes (useful for damp days in autumn at the beach!). The views from the master bedroom are fantastic: seeing dawn break over a distant Warkworth Castle with Coquet Island and the North Sea as a backdrop was just amazing. Warkworth beach is also brilliant for long walks, sandcastle building and collecting shells and pebbles. We'd seriously think about booking again if visiting Northumberland.

The property

Warkworth 2 miles.

Situated in the grounds of Eastfield Hall, this end-terrace holiday cottage is just two miles from the beach and the charming village of Warkworth.

If you are seeking high-quality accommodation, with amazing far-reaching sea views towards the Heritage Coast, this wonderful holiday home is perfect for friends and family to gather together.

Entering through the front door of the cottage you walk into the spacious, comfortable sitting room which leads through into the large well-equipped kitchen and dining area.

The kitchen/diner is bright and sleek and has everything you could possibly require to cater for all eventualities, be it a celebratory dinner or a picnic on the beach.

The sitting room has huge, sumptuous sofas which invite you to curl up and relax whilst taking in the amazing sea and coastal views.

Completing the accommodation are three comfortable bedrooms, each with its own bathroom facilities.

On sunny days the rear garden is a lovely spot to linger over a glass of wine or two and watch the sun descend to the west.

The delightful village of Warkworth is just a five minute drive away, with gorgeous shops, pubs, restaurants and galleries, as well as Warkworth Castle towering above it all, a fine example of a 14th century fortress.

Alternatively take a boat to the Warkworth Hermitage, a medieval cave or just chill out on the banks of the River Coquet and watch the river make its way to the coast at Amble.

Amble, Alnmouth and Craster are all within easy reach and have excellent pubs and restaurants or take in Alnwick Castle and its impressive garden, just a 15 minute drive away.

Holly Cottage is a great place for a family holiday in Northumberland, whatever time of year.

About the location

Alnwick 5 miles; Alnmouth 3 miles; Amble 1 mile.

Lying in the loop of the River Coquet on the Heritage Coast, Warkworth is a picturesque village, dominated by the dramatic ruins of its 12th century castle. The history of the village and the castle are intertwined with the Percy Family who took over the castle in 1332. The Percys’ other home is nearby Alnwick Castle, most recently associated with Harry Potter as the film location of Hogwarts School. The main street is lined with Georgian and early Victorian houses and there is an exceptional range of galleries, antiques shops, a village shop/Post Office, pubs, restaurants and gift shops to suit all tastes. Warkworth has its own stretch of sandy beach and a 9 hole pay and play golf course. Also within easy touring distance are Hadrian’s Wall, Bamburgh Castle, Holy Island, the Farne Islands, several wonderful beaches and Alnwick Garden with its remarkable water cascade and Tree House Restaurant.
