  • "The Annex is a lovely place to stay, just right for a solo traveller or a couple."

It's clean, comfortable and within easy reach of a shop and a pub. I had a great time here whilst walking the Tyne Trail. Thoroughly recommended.

  • "A lovely apartment with modern shower room and kitchen and views across the valley to the Cheviots."

Parking on site as well. The hosts David and Joanne couldn’t have made us feel more welcome and even washed down our car after a rainfall deposited Saharan sand all over it! Well placed on a bus route for both Hexham and Newcastle and a railway station not that far away. Prudhoe may not be the prettiest of locations but the people are very friendly and it is ideally situated for exploration into the stunning countryside and towns, with all the amenities that one needs. We would highly recommend this place.

Very well equipped, clean comfortable and every thing covered for our fur baby Chilli. Secure garden, local to shops, restaurants etc. Ideal location for base whilst traveling around the area. Would highly recommend and would certainly return. The owners are very welcoming and friendly. thanks

The welcome box with some essentials and treats was a lovely touch and the hosts were friendly and helpful. The accommodation was very clean with everything you would need for a break away. The furnishings were comfortable, tasteful cosy and decorative which added to the relaxing ambiance. Would recommend this place to friends.

  • "We had a really lovely stay at the Annex."

It was a very well presented, comfortable and clean apartment with a great outlook over the garden and the Tyne Valley beyond. It was well located for visiting Hexham, Corbridge and Hadrian's Wall, as well as the Metro Centre for those who like to shop. The only negative would be the noise from the floor above, where you could even hear the dog walking across the floor, early in the morning.

  • "We absolutely loved our stay here - it was perfect!"

The accommodation has everything you could possibly need and has been a great location for me whilst doing some renovations on my property in Northumberland. The owners were really friendly and extremely helpful. The property was clean, tidy and extremely well-maintained. It was a really quiet area, parking is available for 1 vehicle, the garden was perfect for my dog and generally, everything was great! I can't think of any negative points; our only struggle was initially finding the house as I don't know Prudhoe very well at all, but the owner was really helpful with this aspect, too! Thanks Joanne and David - we will definitely return if and when we need to come back to Northumberland again!

  • "The Annex was clean, comfortable and attractively furnished and decorated, with good quality crockery and fittings."

It was bright and light with views across the valley to the hills beyond. Some great sunsets. Lovely welcome pack with wine and goodies. The owners, who lived in the house above, were lovely and even made a cake -- with candles -- for my husband's birthday in the middle of the week. We wanted a place near Newcastle for family visiting reasons, and whilst Prudhoe may not seem the most glamorous place for a holiday it proved to be a good centre for exploring the South part of Northumberland and Hadrian's Wall. Highly recommended.

  • "Just not our cup of tea, really."

The flush of the toilet is not very effective, though nothing can be done about this. The parking is tight with four cars in the drive. The rear garden had plenty of weeds growing through the gravel. And movement of the family upstairs is heard through the ceiling. Pleasant owners, no hard feelings on our part, just not our thing.

I’m sorry to hear you were disappointed with your stay at the Annex and wasn’t your cup of tea. If you had addressed the problem with the flush we could have dealt with it. As advertised there is one parking space for the visitors to the Annex with ample room. The weeds growing in the gravel are in fact herbs and wild flowers once they have bloomed they are removed. Just trying to help the bees and the environment. Not sure about Accuracy of listing this was done via Sykes. Also unsure of your breakdown re-facilities? However I hope you at least enjoyed your welcome pack Property Owner

  • "It was a fantastic annex and so comfortable."

Garden bigger and better than we expected. So so clean. A lovely welcome pack meant I had a glass of wine as we unpacked! I felt at home the moment we walked in. Great spacious shower and such friendly hosts. The bed was soft which I’m not used to but there was so much storage space in the bedroom and extra towels. Plus a very useful washing machine that we were able to use. It was far better than we expected and we already had high expectations.

Prudhoe is a small town, very convenient for countryside, or seaside visits. Cottage was very homely and comfortable, definitely be booking a holiday here again. (One small note, there are several steep steps to negotiate with luggage on arrival) Thanks again Barry and Rod

  • "The Annex is perfect as a base to see the wonderful Northumberland countryside."

The hosts are friendly and welcoming, they were there if we needed them but were not 'in your face' they helped to make it a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The Annex itself was a home from home & had everything we needed. There are a lot of steps down to the Annex so something to think about if you have mobility issues BUT both my daughter and I are disabled and apart from bringing things in on arrival and packing back up at the end we managed well and it will NOT stop us going back. We will just pack things a bit differently. All in all I would highly recommend this property to anyone wanting a good holiday in the area. We are already looking at dates to go back, and we don't normally go to the same place twice.

  • "This a was a perfect base for visiting our family in Newcastle."

The accommodation and facilities fully met our needs and the proprietors were friendly and approachable (although we had no issues requiring their attention.) The one proviso (which I think is detailed in the brochure) is that the accommodation is accessed via a flight of stairs. These are broad and well lit by security lighting at night but might be a challenge if you were of restricted mobility. I have no hesitation in recommending this property to anyone.

  • "Two things, both lack of information."

Firstly, when we arrived it was quite cold and it took a while to get the heating on and it went off after about 10 minutes, instructions on how to operate the heating would have been useful. Halfway through the week we realised that the living room window was open, closing it had been restricted by a piece of plastic. Secondly, the recycling, there was instructions as to which bin to us but nothing about what gets recycled we had to check with our friends who live in the area. Other than this The Annex was very clean and quiet although it was close to a busy road.

  • "I found the accommodation better than the advertised picture suggested."

The Annex was stylish, spotlessly clean, well furnishe, and Dave and Joanne were exceptional hosts. Dave offered to help with my luggage, and Joanne even took my dry washing off the line and folded it! I have no doubt that if I did have a problem it would have been addressed immediately. On leaving Joanne presented me with a card from her and Dave wishing me well in my new life in Northumberland. Northumbrian hospitality at its best. No wonder I want to live here. A great two weeks.

The only thing I would change in the description is that there are a lot of steps to get down to the building and it may be too much for some folk, although there is a banister to hold onto. Other than that it was fantastic!
