  • "Lovely, comfortable holiday cottage."

It was ideally situated for us and was extremely well-equipped. It was so kind of the owner to leave us milk and bread etc for the first evening and breakfast. We would definitely recommend staying here and will probably do so again. Thank you.

The lovely touches - wine, bread, butter etc provided by the owner made us feel most welcome.

  • "The accommodation was fine but the description provided by you was misleading in some respects."

You describe the main road outside the cottage as "vibrant". In fact it is the very busy A69 which is quite narrow through the village and carries many heavy lorries etc. The path outside the cottage is also narrow which means the many lorries pass very close to the property. This created noise and vibration and made leaving the cottage quite a scary business, particularly with our dog on a lead. The "garden" at the rear is a very small shared yard completely surrounded by other properties and a dilapidated shed. This is not somewhere you would want to spend any time, and not somewhere suitable to let our dog out into. You also state "Get to know your local area and explore the wealth of shops right on your doorstep, browsing through the local supermarket....". The wealth of shops consists of three, a butcher, a corner shop and a cake shop. Why feel the need to exaggerate? The result of your misdescription is that we rented a property the we would not have taken for ourselves with our dog if it had been described correctly. I would appreciate your comments on the above. Steve Partridge

  • "Great village ideally located for most things in Northumberland."

House was nice but water pressure was poor and shower was poor but house very clean and had everything we required.

  • "Coquetdale Cottage was a fantastic venue for our fortnight stay in Northumberland, that we’d highly recommend as a cosy and well-arranged base to explore a beautiful, welcoming and unspoilt region of England."

The house was spotlessly clean and well-maintained and the owner really went the extra mile to make sure we had everything we needed. Local facilities (an outstanding bakery, great all-round village shop, a recently-installed Kompan playground, all within 2 minutes walk) are excellent, and the village of Longframlington itself is pretty and traditional with even all newer-builds constructed from the same picturesque local stone as the older properties. Alnwick Castle and Gardens are a 15 minute drive away and there are many immaculate sandy beaches within a half-hour drive, which are quiet even in the height of summer.

  • "The cottage has been tastefully decorated and is spotlessly clean."

The beds/bedrooms in particular are excellent. The location is superb - lots of great places to visit close-by, as well as two nice pubs serving meals and a lovely cafe/ delicatessen in the village. The only downside was that the garden is only a shared courtyard and the shower was not easy to regulate. However, we had an excellent week and very much enjoyed our time in the cottage.
