  • "Spacious and very well equipped, with wonderful view along coast to Dunstanburgh Castle."

    Strongly recommend.

  • "Fantastic location with fabulous views."

Great to have a cuppa in the early morning sunshine on the terrace outside with the beautiful view of Dunstanburgh Castle. Super walks from the door up and down the coast and well placed for visiting Alnwick, Bamburgh, Holy Island etc. We had lovely meals at the local hotel and the village pub and the village shop is handy for bread, milk, newspapers etc as well as more wine! Super well equipped kitchen but would benefit from a second fridge. Loved the two lounges however the settees downstairs are not the comfiest! Plenty of space for 12 adults, would highly recommend.

  • "What a fantastic property."

We visited with our children and grandchildren and had an amazing family get together. The house is huge and well appointed and maintained. The views are phenomenal. I especially loved waking up to an amazing sunrise over the sea with Dunstanburgh Castle silhouetted against the sky.

  • "A fabulous house with all the facilities we could possibly need for a great weekend."

The rooms were all excellently furnished, the kitchen was stocked very well with crockery and utensils - great to see for such a large property. We were all thoroughly impressed. The view is to die for but the pepper doesn’t just rely on that it provided us with an amazing place to spend our weekend together.

  • "The property was very well maintained, and cleaned."

The layout and facilities were exactly as described and we were therefore able to plan before we arrived. Our family had a fabulous stay and enjoyed the view from the house and the local walks and castles in particular. There was so much to do in the area that we will be back to discover more. The owner was helpful with a couple of queries we had.

  • "The situation of this property is amazing with panoramic views in all directions."

We enjoyed breakfast on the terrace every morning and occasionally lunch and tea in the sunny adjacent field. The house is really beautifully appointed with comfortable bedrooms, modern bathrooms and a very well equipped kitchen. The owner kindly supplied us with logs and kindling for the fire in the dining room, which was welcome in the evenings.

  • "This property was fantastic for a large family get together, the number of bedrooms and bathroom facilities were the best I have found."

It was just as described and the location could not have been better for the beach and walks. I found the check in and information provided excellent. There is plenty of car parking space. When we had an issue this was quickly reacted to by the owner and I would be happy to return in the future.

  • "Had a fabulous three night weekend here with a group of seven friends."

Absolutely loved the house, perfect for our group, sadly wet weather put paid to our walk to the beach, but the area is wonderful to explore. Had a minor issue with electric lighting, but our owner and host was excellent - always quick to respond to any queries and concerns. The house is well equipped, there was nothing we needed that we couldn't find and the refurb has been done beautifully and tastefully. Would come again and definitely recommend.

We are a party of 12 adults. This is the best accommodation we have stayed in. There is plenty of room especially in the hall for walking boots, backpacks etc. All of our party enjoyed it so much we are going to rebook - maybe for a week this time

  • "This is a very large stylish house with amazing views."

It is very comfortable for a large group as it has three communal areas (two lounges and a large kitchen). It is very beautiful inside and is decorated to high standard. There are also lots of bathrooms. The walk to the beach is about 15mins down a steep hill. The beach is amazing with a Castle at one end and Low newton at the other. The area is fantastic and the house is a great get away location.

  • "Excellent walking location for the coast and beaches."

Car journeys to castles etc. The welcome pack that my wife received was a lovely touch as she celebrated being 70 years of age. Good house for the 'family' consisting of ages 5 to 72. En-suites appreciated. Washing machine drying room very useful. Appreciated the two lounges. Very good kitchen. Enjoyed the fire pit. Some comments that may be helpful: A larger freezer (which we gather is in hand) The heating was variable - very hot upper lounge, but the under floor heating downstairs was not that efficient. The two sleigh beds would benefit from mattress toppers. Stone bath plug needs replacing. A Visitors Book would have been appreciated - we would have added some nice appreciative comments. We had a wonderful week in this lovely house.

  • "Just returned from a Bank Holiday weekend visit to Embelton/Northumberland."

We stayed in the house called the LOOK OUT in Embelton...what an amazing house it was. It accomodated 12 of us very comfortably and the facilities in house were good. As the weather was so excellent it was great to sit out front and look down to the sea...fantastic view in all directions. The only thing we missed was having a few patio chairs or a bench outside on the terrace to sit, there is a great garden area just to the side of the house with picnic tables which we used but when cooking in the house it would have been good just to walk out the front door, sit on the terrace and be near to the front door to pop in and keep an eye on the food cooking. Plenty of pubs in the village and a shop that sells most things needed. All in all a great place to be,

Plenty of room for a large family. We were 9 adults and 3 small children under 4. The view from the front of the property was fantastic and the owners were lovely and had put a lot of work into the property. The local pub a 2 minute walk away was friendly and has good food and the Joiners Arms is fantastic and not far away. All in all a crackng holiday. Carol York

  • "My wife and I were particularly impressed with the large and well-equipped kitchen."

The lighting, however, in many rooms- especially the lounges- was on the dim side and the two ships' lanterns over the dining table were impressive but produced little meaningful light.

Very nicely decorated and furnished and well equipped. Nice to be so near 3pubs and a shop. Parking good too. Beach down the road, enjoyed grassy area with tables next to house. Felt garden could have had a bit more planting next to wall and out the back was poor.
