  • "So disappointed after 2 very disturbed nights kept awake by the air heat pump outside our bedroom ."

I reported this and a very nice maintenance man came and made it a lot better but said it should not be fitted there. I would have expected at least an apology from the owner or some response from yourselves after spending time ringing you all. Very disappointed from a regular customer

  • "Lovely tranquil setting, with sea views from every window and spacious balcony."

The beaches are spotless. The only thing we were surprised at was the lack of basic items, such as salt, pepper, vinegar. Tea bags/coffee bags/sugar would have been nice. In every other holiday cottage we have stayed in over the years, these items were present and added to the feeling of being welcomed.

  • "Lovely stay, would highly recommend."

The 2 single rooms are on the small side, but that would not stop us from returning.

  • "We absolutely loved our stay."

The quality of light through the high level windows on both sides of the main living space was sublime. To sit and enjoy possibly the best, uninterrupted sea view of anywhere I have stayed in the world, peering over the castle on one side and the Farnes on the other, on the large glazed balcony was a treat all day long, but particularly at sunrise and sunset. The bedrooms had the same view. To top it off, after sunset the large island was fab to sit and eat and play games around. We'll be booking again.

  • "This was a stunning property for our week away."

The views from the living room / balcony were just amazing; all the way from Bamburgh Castle, the Farne Islands across Embleton bay and to Dunstanburgh Castle. The design made it really light and warm and we thoroughly enjoyed our week. The only minor negative was that the parking was quite tight for a larger car. Having a fabulous farm shop so close was a real bonus.

  • "A brilliant space for staying in Embleton and an absolutely gorgeous location."

Lovely, spacious main room with balcony overlooking the coast so even when the weather was poor, we had a wonderful sense of being somewhere special. Loved how easy it was to keep clean with a dog and it was brilliant that parking and access was so easy to manage, too. Bathroom was beautiful and so lovely to have a decent shower after days in the sea. A couple of things we found disappointing: the double bed mattress was uncomfortable, with clear dips on each side. I think it is really in need of replacing. Second thing was that some of the crockery was lacking - cereal bowls - only three - and a set of wine glasses would have been great. Otherwise, the kitchen equipment was great. Hope this feedback helps - it wouldn’t stop us returning as we loved the space for a beach holiday.

Just a few things the balcony glass would benefit from a power wash and the various holes in the wall behind the tv and where the replacement radiator in the master bedroom holes could be filled and the new pipes in said bedroom want boxing in The what we thought was a heat pump makes a lot of creaking noises in the early morning You know a tv in the bedroom would have been nice

  • "The view is splendid from the property and the facilities are quite good."

The builder was very responsive - it is 24 hour cover and a pleasant service regarding the several problems with the rapid bathroom installation which had been completed just in time between bookings. We were out walking so his visits to sort things out were not intrusive, but could have been. The douvets are past their best. The kitchen is well equipped but all basic provisions need to be brought with you - even salt - but of course it is location location location that makes it a glorious winner!

Lovely warm, homely accommodation. Sealant around the bath could do with a refresh. From the golf club, to the Greys Inn, the Hotel to the Post Office, this is fantastic location to stay at. Excellent walking area. We are coming back in 2023!

We had our dog with us and found the lay out of the accommodation perfect for him and easy for us to keep clean and tidy. It was sad to return home but the thought of returning is consolation - a credit to all involved.

  • "Fantastic location virtually in centre of village."

Lovely high position to give great view of coast from High Newton to north and Dunstanburgh Castle and beyond to the south - all from inside the open plan living area or out on the balcony. Nice size main double bedroom with two small single rooms. Blackout blinds/curtains very useful in June with very early sunrises. Parking for one car. Easy walk to the beach, slight climb on way back. Plenty of other places to go on foot or by car. Don't forget to pack a map to help you get around.

It was spotlessly clean, the views were amazing and the three levels for the room layout worked well. Ideal location for exploring the whole county. We will be booking again for our next visit to Northumberland!

A beautiful grassy path runs from the village to neighbouring Craster, alongside the sea and past Dunstanburgh Castle - the largest ruined castle in Northumberland. The gardens at nearby Howick Hall are open during the summer and are noted for their beauty, whilst Alnwick Castle and Garden are a 'must-see' when visiting the area. For the keen golfer, Dunstanburgh Links Course is about 1 mile away - just one of several excellent courses in the vicinity.
