“This is a beautifully quiet and cosy cottage very close to amenities but up a very quiet street - the photographs don't do it justice.”

The village itself is welcoming and all the shops were really interesting and the range of pubs and takeaways very exciting to people like us who live in a village with nothing. Even Storm Ali didn't keep us awake, and the views from the upstairs windows over the bay are worth the money in themselves

“We specifically asked about the parking outside the house, as it looks very narrow at the front was there parking to the rear - your operative Hugo said yes that this was correct.”

It is not - there is no rear access at all to the property and parking is by reversing your car from the main road and parking hard against the property wall, or on the public street somewhere. The property is spacious and pretty well equipped although there does not appear to be a washing machine according to previous reviews and there was no remote control for the DVD which is a nuisance of you are watching a box set. It was very handy for all amenities of Eyemouth and there is a great beach about 2mins walk

The welcome pack was lovely and Jo was very helpful. However, the front door is badly in need of attention and the bathroom is rather scruffy around the shower area.

“100% Satisfied with our stay in Driftwood, Close to the local shop's , Friendly local people, As we went fishing ,we found some good venues to fish off the rock's ,bit of a climb down but well worth it .”

.Also nice scenic walk's North towards St Abbs ,and South towards Burnmouth..,So i highly recommend going to Eyemouth , most likely we will be back next year ,",Oh" and a big thankyou for the welcoming package .

The welcome and attention from Jo the caretaker exceptional. More hanging space in main bedroom would be useful and there is plenty of room for it. Surprised there is no washing machine. Must be a real drawback for summer visitors, children coming from the beach etc. Over all a welcome place from which to enjoy the Scottish Borders. Joan Thomas

This was a lovely cottage, well appointed, lovely and warm, with a welcome package that was gratefully received! Eyemouth proved a nice town with lots of amenities...didn't manage to find the laundrete, tho'! So useful for Berwick and Edinburgh. It would have scored top marks had there been outside space for the dogs, rather than having to take them walkies on leads constantly, but it doesn't mention outside space on site, so fair enough... We would definately consider another stay there.

LAST TIME WE WERE THERE WE COMMENTED THAT THE ONLY PROBLEM WE FOUND WAS THE LACK OF HANDRAIL ON THE STAIRS, BUT I AM VERY PLEASED TO REPORT THAT A HANDRAIL HAS BEEN INSTALLED THE FULL LENGTH OF THE STAIRS. MUCH APPRECIATED. ALSO A VERY GOOD WELCOME PACK SUPPLIED.

There is a good pub, The Contented Sole, nearby for meals as well as a good fish and chip shop. The cottage itself is on three floors with an excellent kitchen on the ground floor and a good size lounge on the first floor. For a reasonably priced cottage it's very well equipped and lots of room.

“A very comfortable cottage in a lovely seaside town”

We spent 3 nights in the cottage in October 2013 which was very enjoyable. The house was very well appointed including free WiFi.We arrived to find a very substantial welcome pack.The town of Eyemouth is very nice with lovely surrounding countryside and a lovely harbour with seals arriving each day hoping to be fed. As we were there for 3 nights we had no requirement for a washing machine but had I stayed for a week I would rather have had a washing machine than a dishwasher.I had a round of golf at Eyemouth Golf Club which I thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend it.They serve food regardless of whether you play golf so it's worth a visit even if you don't golf as the view from the clubhouse is lovely.

“The cottage was cosy.”

The cottage is in such a great location, 5 minutes from the beach and harbour, shops, swimming pool and the start of coastal walks. There are lots of interesting places to visit in Eyemouth, but also Edinburgh, and Holy Island are fairly easy to get to if you have a car. The people are really friendly in the town, and we had the feeling that they really wanted us to enjoy our holiday! Absolutely brilliant.

This traditional, terraced, former fisherman's cottage dates back to 1860 and is excellently positioned in the conservation area of old Eyemouth, in the heart of this fishing port, on Scotland's beautiful Berwickshire coast.

EYEMOUTH

St Abbs 4.5 miles; Chirnside 7.7 miles; Berwick upon Tweed 8 miles; Duns 11 miles.

Situated on the East Coast, just over the Scottish Border, and only eight miles north of Berwick-upon-Tweed, Eyemouth has been a bustling fishing port for centuries, and there are a number of local fishmongers still supplied from local fishing boats today. Narrow cobbled streets preserve the ancient character of this delightful coastal town, and there's a number of visitor attractions outlining the history of the area. Visit Gunsgreen House and learn some of the history of the town and the smuggling that once took place, or enjoy the Eyemouth Museum, fishing heritage centre and art galleries on offer. There are excellent golfing facilities available, with a clifftop course in town and a number of other courses in the area, while walks, cycling, bird watching and visits to castles and country houses are all within a short driving distance. Visit Coldingham Priory, Paxton House, Manderston House, Floors Castle and the magnificent walled town of Berwick-upon-Tweed for an exciting day out. Both Edinburgh and Newcastle upon Tyne are reached in an hour, making Eyemouth a wonderful base for touring South Scotland, and the North of England.
