“Lovely cottage in a great location.”

Plenty of room and good facilities. Only suggestion would be black out curtains in the bedroom on the first floor as streetlights illuminated the rom all night.

“Beds very comfortable and clean, bedrooms lovely however baths need grab rails to get in and out safely I found it a struggle and I’m only 61.”

Lounge rather tired and rug has definitely seen better days, looked rather dirty. Kitchen very well equipped with everything needed. Loved the little goodies left for us very kind. Lovely house just needs some lounge upgrade all in all we had a lovely week.

the whole place could have been cleaner. everything was well worn and in need of replacing. not good enough for the price I paid. won't be going back, will not be using SYKES again either

“We enjoyed our stay at The Beach House, the location was particularly good and we had everything we needed pretty much on our doorstep.”

The harbour was lovely and our 2 girls loved the seals and crabbing off the side of the harbour. The lovely sandy beach is also a huge bonus. The property was clean and tidy and the layout was great as our 2 girls (10 & 14) had the middle floor and we had some peace and quiet on the top floor! The welcome basket was also a nice treat. On arrival on the Saturday afternoon we did struggle to park but actually for the rest of the week we parked down opposite the bakery with no issues each day. Worth baring in mind though if you are less physically able and have bags and cases to carry. My only comment would be that a little booklet or folder with information would be handy, I have often found these useful on other holidays. It would have been handy to know where to place full rubbish bags and how to use the oven (the numbers on the dials have worn off). Also maybe a guest book so people could add recommendations on places to eat/visit? We found Giacopazzi's most certainly did the best fish and chips (and ice cream!), St Abbs is beautiful (cafe is also lovely) and Chillingham Castle was a really fascinating day out.

Everything about the holiday was perfect. We drove out to St Abbs,Dunbar, and Coldingham all lovely places. The seals in the harbour were a lovely bonus.The local people were very friendly and gave advice when asked. We are looking forward to returning soon for another holiday.

“Accomodation was good, clean and everything we needed was available.”

As there was only a lounge area and a kitchen downstairs it was a bit crowded with all 6 of us in it, but luckily, the children (3 of them) liked to play in their bedrooms, which were spacious. The location of the house was just perfect, with the sea and spotless beach literally round the corner and all the local tourist spots also on the doorstep. We have been holidaying in Eyemouth for the last 40 years and am sure we will be back again soon.

“Very clean and spacious.”

The beach house was very clean and had ample bedrooms for our family of 4. The weather was just superb and made our stay in Eyemouth great! The description on the Internet about the house is pretty accurate except the parking. We brought 2 cars and had difficulty getting parking at the same place which is behind the house most nights.. We all enjoyed staying at the beach house but could not figure out how to work the DVD player. Obviously we are not technically clever.. Overall, we would highly recommend the beach house to anyone wanting a nice place for their holiday near the beach!

“The beach house was clean and had ample rooms for our family.”

The weather was superb throughout the stay which made the holiday just perfect! Eyemouth's near coastal beaches were breath taking and lovely to visit. Shopping at Berwick town was nice and full of history. The only difficulty that we had was parking. We drove 2 cars and found finding same parking spaces near the beach house was hit or miss for the whole week. Overall we would highly recommend the beach house as a nice place to stay to all the families and groups up to 6!

The beds are very comfortable. It is very close to the harbour and the beach. The owners are very thoughtful and there are dishwasher tablets and some washing machine tablets which made life much easier and cleaner!

Less than a minute from the beach. We all really enjoyed our stay. Eyemouth and the surrounding area offered lots to do, even in February when many of the usual tourist attractions were still closed for winter. Everyone we met was very friendly. We would visit again.

“The house was very comfortable with a high standard of fittings and we found the beds to be really comfortable too.”

The decor throughout was lovely and the crisp white bedding made the rooms look nice and clean and the beds very inviting. There was plenty of hanging space and drawers too. Located in the centre of town two minutes from the beach and within easy distance from pubs and a choice of eateries made it a great choice for us and we would definitely recommend the house to others and would consider another stay in the future.

“Excellent family cottage in quiet spot in town, yards from beach and amenities”

Really enjoyed this cottage, a real home from home in a nice spot near to all the things you need on holiday without going in the car; the beach, harbour, pubs, restaurants, great fish/chips, ice cream etc. Near to superb Indian Brasserie, few hundred yards from good Co-operative supermarket for anything you need, so all in all very convenient and comfortable. Easy car trips to Edinburgh, Berwick and Holy Island. Outstanding family beach at Coldingham up the road, good coastal walks too. We parked two cars no problem all week on unlimited road parking nearby. No ground floor loo and a lot of stairs may be an issue for older relatives. Highly recommended for families wanting a great break with lots nearby.

The owner was very helpful before we arrived. The cottage was very well equipped, spotlessly clean, pleasantly decorated and in very good condition. The location was good too. Less than a minute from the beach, and the same from the harbour. Lots of info about things to do provided at the cottage. This was our first UK holiday for thirty years, and we will be doing it again.

“Absolutely beautiful little house, so quirky and decorated really lovely.”

The beds were comfy, it was warm and it had everything we needed (somewhere to wash our things if needed, utensils, even a little welcome package with chocolates!) Everything is in walking distance and there are some lovely little ice cream shops in the area. We had the greatest time and found a lot of fun family things to do. The owners were absolutely lovely to us and we appreciate everything they did. Would definitely go again and recommended. Thanks so much!

“Lovely, clean & comfortable Town House & excellent location for walking.”

As well as walking further afield we enjoyed our daily walks along the beach, which is just five minutes walk away. The welcome pack & towels etc for the dog were nice touches & much appreciated. There are lots of lovely places to eat/get carry outs from & there is a Co-op just along the road which was very handy. We thoroughly enjoyed our New Year stay & would definitely recommend The Beach House.

“The house and town we stayed in was very enjoyable , friendly people in Eyemouth, , everything you need , no need to cook your own meals , cafe's and take away's, shop's etc etc,, if you like walking it is the place to visit , highly recommended coastline views,, all though the fishing was rather poor, i would book again but early on in the season , has i was informed by the locals it fishes better in the Summer months ,, for the house and town i would give it 10 out of 10,,,.”

The property

A townhouse in the centre of Eyemouth, just a few short paces from the glorious sandy beach.

Located in the heart of the town, you are surrounded by shops, pubs, takeaways, restaurants and cafés.

With the nearby beach and bracing coastal walks from the doorstep, this is an ideal holiday cottage for large groups of friends or families wanting to get together for that long awaited break.

The Beach House has an open plan living area with comfortable sofas, drop leaf dining facilities and a large TV with Sky family bundle making it a really cosy and relaxing room.

The adjoining open plan kitchen has all the facilities needed for preparing dinner for the whole group or take your pick from one of the local eateries or takeaways on the doorstep.

The two bedrooms on the first floor consist of a triple bunk, double futon at the bottom and single on the top, a king-size bedroom and a family bathroom.

The second floor houses a single bedroom and a king-size with an en-suite bathroom.

Why not take a picnic to the nearby beach or wander along to the harbour and watch the local fishermen land their haul.

A welcoming pet-friendly cottage, perfect for group gatherings situated close to beaches and family fun.

About the location

EYEMOUTH

St Abbs 4.5 miles; Chirnside 7.7 miles; Berwick upon Tweed 8 miles; Duns 11 miles.

Situated on the East Coast, just over the Scottish Border, and only eight miles north of Berwick-upon-Tweed, Eyemouth has been a bustling fishing port for centuries, and there are a number of local fishmongers still supplied from local fishing boats today. Narrow cobbled streets preserve the ancient character of this delightful coastal town, and there's a number of visitor attractions outlining the history of the area. Visit Gunsgreen House and learn some of the history of the town and the smuggling that once took place, or enjoy the Eyemouth Museum, fishing heritage centre and art galleries on offer. There are excellent golfing facilities available, with a clifftop course in town and a number of other courses in the area, while walks, cycling, bird watching and visits to castles and country houses are all within a short driving distance. Visit Coldingham Priory, Paxton House, Manderston House, Floors Castle and the magnificent walled town of Berwick-upon-Tweed for an exciting day out. Both Edinburgh and Newcastle upon Tyne are reached in an hour, making Eyemouth a wonderful base for touring South Scotland, and the North of England.
