  • "A delight. Lots of room, the minimum of ornaments cluttering up all the useful spaces, a well-equipped kitchen, especially utensils (could do with just a couple more microwaveable containers)."

Perfect location for Lindisfarne. Absolutely will consider re-booking when we head up to Northumberland again.

  • "Lovely break away to include New Year's Eve."

The Nook is a little gem and Fenwick is a lovely quiet and tranquil village with excellent access to the A1 making exploring the area absolutely perfect. We visited Holy Island, Bamburgh and Berwick upon Tweed with ease. We are two older ladies so the ground floor accommodation was perfect as were the two en suite bedrooms. The only issue we had was with the oven and left a note in the Maintenance Folder the owner has provided. We would definitely try and book this accommodation if we were planning another trip to Northumberland. Thanks for making a great start to 2024 for us!

  • "Fantastic property."

Simply stunning in every way. Couldn't fault it except for the fact that although the listing says a shared garden, it doesnt say you need it leave the property and walk around the corner to a fenced patio area shared with the flat above and the customers using the cafe nextdoor. No letting you dog out for a late night wee in the pouring rain! No dog. No problem.

Fenwick is a quiet hamlet with a cosy little coffee shop and a Londis up the road for basics. There is a beautiful long sandy beach (great for dog walking in the winter) and of course Holy Island, both less than 15 minutes away by car. No light pollution and so many stars on a clear night! We had fun going from Berwick railway station to Edinburgh to see the castle and shops, and then day trips out to see lots of other castles. I would strongly recommend it.

Just a couple of points: We always cook our own meals and a couple of thing made this difficult 3 large frying pans but no small ones so one egg had to be cooked in a very large pan. One sauspan pan lid missing so needed to use a plate to cover But critically no instructions for the oven which led indirectly to the breakage of a varse whilst trying to open the kitchen window whilst burning the bacon under the grill, alarms ringing. Aside from that a wonderfully well maintained property and highly recommended in every way. We have replaced the varse from a shop in Alnwick we hope that meets your approval Many thanks Madeline and John

Lots of local walks on the doorstep and Holy Island is only 10 mins away (tides permitting). It was an easy drive to either Berwick or Alnwick for supermarkets if you need supplies. In an ideal position for sightseeing all round Northumberland. We were fortunate with the weather which made it perfect. Wouldn't have any hesitation in recommending The Nook to anyone. More detailed instructions in the welcome book as to which bin for recycling would have been useful as looking in both bins there didn't seem to be any difference. In the welcome book places to eat would have very better to give places Name's ather than post codes. The people above us in The Loft had a dog which we could hear running across the floor, might be better to give dog owners The Nook instead

Highly recommend. Great extras such as Amazon Tv and hairdryers provided. Heating system top quality as lovely and warm. Minor points would be additional pillows should be provided as only one of each on each bed and they are very flat, and better quality fluffy towels would make this cottage even better. Lovely welcome pack - milk, bread and wine was a lovely touch and helpful information pack with local information also provided. Garden is separate to the cottage so if you have a dog it’s not a garden you can just open the door and let the dog out. May be helpful to explain this in the listing -wasn’t an issue for us but might be for some people. Would definitely stay again if in the area.
