"Just lovely, location great, every little detail top standards."
"A little gem tucked away in the quiet countryside."
The quality of the cottage furnishings were if a high standard, very clean and comfortable. Everything you would want for self catering. Owners very friendly and helpful.
"Lovely quiet location with an amazing amount of wildlife on the doorstep."
Great welcome pack, friendly hosts who were not intrusive. So much to see within a short drive.
"Absolutely fantastic place."
Quiet, tranquil and beautiful surroundings . The beaches are close by . Definitely recommend .
"Wonderful spacious cottage."
Spotlessly clean with everything you need. Fab garden area with a great sun trap patio area too. Our little dog loved it. The hosts were lovely snd friendly. Berwick is a gorgeous area with great walks and amazing beaches. Cannot wait to return to this charming cottage.
"A lovely little cottage with plenty of room for a couple and dog."
The cottage is very comfortable and very well equipped with all you need for a relaxing break. The garden has lovely views across open countryside. The village pub, the Cross Inn, is excellent. The Riverside cafe in Tweedmouth is great for breakfast and lunch - very friendly, delicious home cooked food, large portions. Both dog friendly. We particularly enjoyed visits to Kelso, Dunbar, Eyemouth and Spittal beach. Our second stay and will be back again.
"We really enjoyed our stay."
The cottage had everything we needed and so many places to visit within easy reach. Lovely quiet location - delighted to see a hare in the garden. We would definitely book again.
"The Turkey House is beautiful."
It is located in a peaceful location. The owners were contactable and so helpful arranging passes to a local attraction, for us.
When we arrived there was a 'Welcome Pack' containing luxury biscuits, bread, eggs , milk etc and my favourite Scottish Fine Soaps toiletries in the bathroom.
We were so fortunate to have sunshine all week, which added to the enjoyment. Lovely, helpful owners, an immaculate property. Thank you so much for letting us stay. Tracy and Kenn
"Extremely great property, views to die for and great location for coastal villages."
The owners very welcoming and a welcome pack to help kick start a very comfortable stay.
"Great location for the Borders and Northumberland."

"The Turkey House is a fantastic spot for exploring the Scottish Borders and Northumberland."
It's a well equipped, clean, cosy cottage perfect for a couple and their dog; we had everything we could need and were well looked after. We are looking forward to visting again!
"THe cottage was very comfortable with everything needed for a great holiday ."
Plenty of places near to visit near by . WE really enjoyed our stay at the Turkey House .
"We stayed back at the end of September."
I couldn't of wished for a better experience, the cottage was absolutely incredible. The views were fantastic, facilities incredible and so cosey! Watching the sunset at night whilst having tea and a very comfy bed.
We would highly recommend anyone staying here, the owners were really helpful and on hand for anything you needed.
Thanks for the stay, we will definitely be back ❤️
"Had a great week here."
..very clean house..they even supplied face masks, hand sanitizer, and disposable gloves. The house is close to the owners but very private a great patio which catches the sunshine.
Very cosy and a great downie..the kitchen has everything you need could do with a new frying pan. There were no dishwasher tablets so remember to take some. Tim and Jane the owners were very kind and there if you need them. Thanks for the welcome pack eggs milk bread butter much appreciated.
"Lovely pristine and comfortable cottage in a peaceful idyllic setting."
Jane has thought of everything to make your stay just perfect. Great location for both beaches and countryside attractions. Great views and sunsets from the garden, plus the most amazing starry skies if its a clear night. Highly recommend.
"We had a pleasant week in the Turkey House, which is peacefully set in lovely countryside."
The owners live next door, so at hand if you need anything but the cottage is very private, with views over the fields. We mostly eat in on holiday, and the kitchen is very well equipped indeed. We had to have the heating on a couple of times (Scotland in August, not unexpected!) and the place heated up very quickly. Excellent hot water too. There are seats and a table outside should you be fortunate with the weather. One pouring wet day we went to Berwick upon Tweed, which is only about six miles away and has supermarkets, cafes etc, and is also very much worth a visit anyway, as it is a very interesting place. We had our bikes with us and were able to cycle straight out the door into the quiet lanes - two pubs in villages a mile or two away are easy to visit. There are also details of local walks in a folder in the cottage. It was wonderful to get a holiday after everything that has been going on, and we had a lovely week here.
"We really enjoyed our stay at The Turkey House."
It was our first break since lockdown and we were slightly apprehensive, but we needn’t have worried. The cottage is in a lovely, quiet, setting overlooking fields and we enjoyed sitting in the sun on the patio and then, after dark, stargazing. The owners were nearby, very friendly, but not intrusive and we appreciated the welcome pack of fresh eggs, milk, bread and butter. The cottage was spotlessly clean and well-appointed. A good base for exploring the Scottish Borders and over into Northumberland. So many fantastic places to visit.
"The Turkey House is a definite must for those staying in or around the area."
A beautiful cottage in a stunning location .
"Accomodation first class, everything we needed and more, a real home from home."
Welcome pack was most appreciated.
Great location for exploring the area. Would go back again.
"Our stay at the Turkey house was excellent from start to finish."
Finding the property was easy, it was nicely secluded even though it is on the owners land and for being a cottage there was plenty of space for us to relax in the cottage with a very warmly feeling. During our stay we explored as much as we could but did not have time to fully explore and we look forward to returning in the near future to continue exploring. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful property.
"The booking experience and the property were just right."
Nobody wants stress at Christmas. We had a short break, with slick dealings with Sykes and a wee property that felt like a miniature home from home!
"The peacefulness and beautiful surroundings were fantastic"
"The Turkey House is a brilliant place to stay if you are looking for peace and quiet in the Scottish Borders."
The cottage is very comfortable and has everything that a couple might need. The hosts, Jane and Tim, are very accommodating and will go out of their way to be helpful. There is a good local pub 5 minutes drive away and it is easy to explore the local area. We felt very rested and did not want to leave at the end of our holiday.
"Fabulous wee holiday house."
Very well equipped and spotlessly clean. Although next to owner’s house it was very private. Lovely garden with chairs and wee footstools. Was a good wee suntrap. Stunning views in every direction. Great walks right from the door. Jane and Tim were lovely and left us a very generous welcome pack. Would highly recommend The Turkey House.
"The Turkey House was ideally located for visiting the area and seeing the sites we wanted to see."
The accomodation had everything we needed with lots of plug sockets for phone charging etc. Great welcome pack on arrival too. One of the best self catering accomodations we have stayed in. Thank you
"Whilst the cottage outwardly looked wonderful and the hosts left us provisions we were not expecting there were some things we were not comfortable with ."
The first was that there was no lock on the porch in which coats, shoes and other out door equipment was left .The main door into the house was difficult to open and there was some evidence of forced entry/entries being made. We did ask the hosts about the lock on the porch which they said had never had a key but it was a solid double glazed door with a multi point lock similar to our home front door and this certainly has a workable lock.
The new electric fire could not be controlled remotely as the batteries had failed and although we told the hosts on our first day there, they did not provide any new batteries but did say we could use the manual override.
There were other small things which needed attention and we left a list of these so they could be rectified.
Thank you for your feedback.
In regards to your concerns raised, the lock on the porch door has been fixed by a locksmith and we can assure you there has never been any attempts at forced entry by persons unknown to us.
The remote to the Electric Fire now has new batteries and is fully operational.
Once again many thanks for your valuable feedback. Property Owner
"We were worried about using Sykes again after our first experience at Waters Edge Camelford in April 2018 where the first thing we had to do was clean what looked like a years dust on the blinds, bathroom and towels needed much tlc."
What a fabulous place The Turkey House turned out to be,beautifully presented throughout, home from home, wonderful location and the welcome pack was incredible. We would recommend this delightful cottage 100%.A definite return is on the cards, well done Sykes with this one.
"Lovely welcome pack from Jane went beyond the norm ."
Beautifull scenery and great walks from this cottage
"This is an extremely comfortable house and so lovely and quiet."
Far from the madding Crowd comes to mind! although not true of the "Far" as Berwick upon Tweed is really so close and full of lovely independent artisan shops -a great wee town. A good stepping off point for touring.
The owner Jane was very helpful in directing us to the house after the Sat Nav led us on a wild goose chase - don't follow Sat Nav but, be guided by the directions attached to the details of the house on the Sykes website. Jane had so kindly left us a number of goodies to consume which was very much appreciated.
"EXCELLENT VENUE FOR EXPLORING THE BORDERS REGION."
A VERY WELL EQUIPPED COTTAGE IN A PEACEFUL LOCATION. OWNERS ARE APPROACHABLE AND HELPFUL WHEN REQUIRED.
"The cottage has Wi-Fi but it did not work for the whole two weeks."
The wood burner stated in cottage description is incorrect it is not a wood burner but a electric fire with artificial logs.
Apart from that we had a great holiday and the cottage was spotless and well equipped and the views across the fields beautiful.
Thank you for your comments, I am sorry to hear you had disruption to Wifi during your stay, this has now been checked and is working fine. We have updated the description to show the wood burner is electric. We are happy to hear you enjoyed the rest of your holiday and we hope to welcome you back in the future. Property Owner

"Perfect cottage for 2."
Beautiful quiet location with views from all windows. Excellent access for coast and country
"Welcoming and very helpful people, Views exceptional, Quiet and relaxing."
With numerous places to visit in the vicinity,
"The accommodation was delightful."
An amazing conversion of a house originally intended for turkeys! Fully equipped and the perfect place to stay for two people. Very light and airy and with views of the farming area around. Very quiet and peaceful but not far from the A1 to travel in any direction.
"Excellent cottage in a lovely location, ideal location ,not far from the A1 for getting to and from Scotland or everything Northumberland as to offer."
"It was perfect for a long weekend."
The weather let us down a little, however we had a fab time and our dog loved the open fields. A very adequate starter pack was waiting for us on arrival, which was a lovley touch and the cottage was always very warm and welcoming. We were disappointed we did not get to meet the owners as they were on their holidays, however we may meet in the future as we very much would like to return. We will certainly recommend to our family and friends.
