  • “We had a very enjoyable holiday.”

Longframlington is central to the area we wanted to explore - half an hour from the coast, about an hour from Lindisfarne, and with National Trust and English Heritage properties not far away. We could be on Warkworth dunes every morning with our dog by 7.00an (getting up at 5.00, which we enjoyed). We walked on Simonside, at Holystone Forest, on Lindisfarne, visited Belsay Hall, Cragside and Wallington, spent a hot afternoon at Longframlington Gardens, and another at Brinkburn Priory, and ...

We walked on Simonside, at Holystone Forest, on Lindisfarne, visited Belsay Hall, Cragside and Wallington, spent a hot afternoon at Longframlington Gardens, and another at Brinkburn Priory, and enjoyed lunches at the Anglers Arms. The cottage was clean - very important in these pandemic days - and had what we needed, though we were out most of the time. The kitchen was minimally equipped and I had to use a bit of ingenuity to cook, but we managed. The sofa is very uncomfortable - even our lurcher, a sofa enthusiast, would not go on it - but we had not gone on holiday to spend time sitting down.
