  • "We were really impressed with the property."

It’s was really well equipped and extremely clean. All the fixtures and fittings were really high quality, lovely bedding and towels. A few negatives, could do with some bins in the bathrooms and the hot water was very hot, might need a bit of a warning. The main draw back for us was the fact you couldn’t really walk to a pub or shop realistically. It was a beautiful location (we loved the cows and the views from the top of the quarry) but I think saying you can ‘stroll onto Bamburgh’ might be a bit of a stretch.

  • "A bit disappointed in the overall cleanliness, I felt all the dishes should be left in the dishwasher at the end of the stay to ensure they are clean, not washed and put away A 9."

00 departure is ridiculously early Lodge location was perfect Local bar at the caravan site closed, only open Friday, Saturday, Sunday, I know this was off season but notice would have been good Room were lovely and warm, under floor heating was a lovely touch Log burner great, showers good, a bath mat to avoid slipping would be good in the family bathroom I would recommend this as it did suit what we wanted, and all in all it was a lovely property

  • "Once again we enjoyed the peaceful location and the calm influence of the decor of this lodge."

Everything necessary but nothing too much. With our dog we found new walks in remarkably sunny weather with some unusual times on an empty windswept beach ! We hope to return in the autumn to enjoy the many options in Northumberland and the local produce in Bamburgh,

  • "This is a gorgeous property in a fabulous location."

Excellent facilities really well thought out. We stayed in January and really enjoyed the peace and quiet - watching the sun rise over the fields was magical. Only a mile from Bamburgh and easy to get to all the local visit sites - especially the beach with the dog. Owners really helpful when we had to slightly flex our stay due to illness.

  • "We had a lovely week stay at the cottage, and the location was wonderful for all the attractions on the Northumbrian coast."

The cottage itself had all the amenities (inc washing machine) and had the best plot on the site. The bedrooms were all a good size and bathrooms were all well appointed. Would recommend for family holidays.

  • "What a fantastic lodge!"

! Well appointed with everything you could need for a family break. The lodge is a wonderful home from home. Everyone from ourselves, my mother in law in her 70s, our kids aged 12 and 9, and even the dog, all found the lodge provided everything to make the stay perfect. Can't wait to make another booking to enjoy the area in general and Bamburgh beach and castle in particular, in warmer weather and with fewer Covid restrictions!!

  • "Booked a 5 night stay , clean well presented cottage in a good location ."

Unfortunately only 2 sets of towels were left and didn’t get resolved despite being told it would . Had to share towels which is not ideal - owner refunded £30 but felt a bit insulted by that , was made to feel uncomfortable by the missing towels , would stay again but in a different cottage

  • "We thought the accommodation and the position of the cottage was excellent."

We enjoyed good weather and sitting outside looking at the cows and the castle was a favourite thing. The facilities in the cottage were very good. The beds were very comfortable and the layout worked well for us. The owners were delightful and very helpful. Wonderful walks lovely stunning beaches we had a great time. I found Sykes difficult to deal with - I waited hours on the phone to try to buy the £10 insurance only to find I needed to to be transferred and yet another wait. I tried a few times to get through. Not good.

  • "Fantastic accommodation only two things could have improved our stay, a hairdryer and curtains in the en suite bedroom."

... ooh and a key to the bifold door, even though March it was very bright and warm. Would recommend and hope to return soon.

Thank you for your feedback. We have now added a hairdryer and black out curtains to the effected bedrooms. We look forward to your return. Property Owner

About the location

BAMBURGH

Seahouses 3 miles; Alnwick 12 miles.

The village’s sweeping sandy beaches and dramatic fortress - Bamburgh Castle - make Bamburgh one of Northumberland’s major visitor attractions. The castle can be seen for miles and dominates this part of the county’s coastline. Today it remains home to the family of the great Victorian industrialist Lord Armstrong, and is open to the public on a daily basis. Although overshadowed by the great castle, Bamburgh village is picturesque with neat grey stone cottages facing a manicured village green. There are excellent pubs, hotels with restaurants and a small selection of village shops. There are golf courses in Bamburgh and nearby Seahouses, and within easy reach are more wide sandy beaches, lovely fishing villages, stunning castles and coastal islands to explore along the dramatic Heritage Coast. There are numerous other attractions also a short drive away, including the famous Alnwick Castle and Gardens and the historic walled border town, Berwick-upon-Tweed. A superb base for exploring Northumberland.
