  • "We chose this for its lovely garden for our dog."

The kitchen is well-equipped with white goods . There are no blinds so it's like being in a goldfish bowl at night. The bathroom is downstairs and smells of damp. There are damp patches with wall paper peeling off in the the kitchen. The lounge area is also in need of some maintenance with damp and dirt an issue. The bedrooms have antique wardrobes and furniture which smell of mothballs. The decor is poor with wallpaper lifting off walls and again damp patches around windows frames The house does not come upto scratch at all for a rental. We never saw or heard from the owners to bring these things to their attention. I was quite shocked and really did not want to stay here.I have photos to share with Sykes . Not recommend!

Thank you for your feedback, it is always appreciated. We would like to address the issues raised by yourself. There are no blinds in the kitchen as the property is not overlooked, therefore we have felt this to be unnecessary. However this is something we would now definitely consider. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. It was clearly evident that there was debris and a small amount of damp behind the TV as both the TV and stand had been moved by yourselves. This had certainly been overlooked but was quickly rectified by our cleaning team and maintenance. Again, we did find some peeling wallpaper on the top left hand corner of the kitchen ceiling, and again this was very easily rectified. We could find no evidence of damp around the UPVC window frames but will certainly monitor this. We feel that the antique furniture in bedroom 1 is in keeping with the style and character of the property. We live next door, this is made clear in the welcome pack, we also provide 2 mobile contact numbers and are always on hand to respond to guests as quickly as possible. Had you reached out to us we would have made every effort to resolve your issues during your stay. Kindest regards. Property Owner

Located well to be able to explore beautiful Northumberland. It's comfortable clean, and cosy. Loads of space for a family of 5. Huge garden perfect for dogs! Nicely decorared and the hosts have thought of everything you could possibly need, from dog treats and poo bags to a well stocked games and craft cupboard for the kids. The sherbert lemons and wine were a lovely touch. Will definitely come back!

  • "The property was absolutely beautiful with a stunning garden perfect for our two dogs as it was all enclosed ."

Plenty of birds and rabbits to sit and watch which made our day. The property had everything available for our needs obviously very carefully and thoughtfully planned out by the owner who was absolutely lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Anne the owner even left a bottle of wine, milk and delicious cookies for us which was very kind of her. The property is in an ideal position for exploring the area with beaches and places of historical interest not a million miles away. We would not hesitate in recommending this gem of a place to our friends and family. A big “Thank you” to Anne who makes the perfect holiday possible. Kind regards Chris and Steve and of course the boys Ben and Teddy xxx

It was absolutely spotless when we arrived and there was milk and wine in the fridge which was a lovely touch. We took our dog and this property had the best garden for her. She was so safe with no room for escape! The pictures don't do it justice! Everywhere you look there are trees and we woke up every morning to rabbits in the garden which pleased the kids no end. It was our first trip to Nortumbria and it didn't disappoint. Ann and Alan thank you so much we loved it.

It was just as it was listed on the website. Easy to find and in a great quiet location. The house was perfect for us and our 2 dogs. The back garden was a complete added bonus. The dogs were able to be secure outside and we could join them with lots of outside seating areas. The house itself had everything you possibly would need. Good size rooms, clean and tidy and nicely decorated. We really enjoyed our stay. The river walk area is right close and we enjoyed our daily walks along there. The local pub serve amazing food and excellent prices. We will definitely be returning. Ann was a perfect host that was on hand if needed. Highly recommend this cottage.

There is a lovely walk along the river not five minutes walk away . Ann is a great host, friendly but not intrusive in any way, there if needed. • "Homely, warm and fresh smelling property (no doggy smells) situated at the end of a long private drive, completely exceeded our expectations."

The front door lock is a little fiddly but once you get the knack of it, it's fine. The hand held shower is a new experience, no room to stand up so it's like having a bath and a shower at the same time but the shower is a good powerful one and if you prefer a bath instead, the bath tub is a big one and fills up quickly. The property was very clean throughout. Kitchen well equipped just missed having a cheese grater in there (or couldnt find it if there was), but the little welcome extras were very much appreciated. Could do will a blind in the kitchen though, as the low autumn sun was very strong and warm in the mornings, but definitely not needed for privacy as only one other property past this one on the private drive. Ideally located to visited the fabulous Northumberland beaches and castles, or inland to Kielder. We felt right at home here and miss the place already, definitely one to keep on our list of favourites.

Huge garden totally dog safe with lovely views and a quiet location near a lovely river. We had 3 spacious bedrooms, tastefully decorated lounge with comfortable sofas and a window seat, a large fully equipped kitchen diner, 2 porches and a parking space. A real home from home for humans and dogs. The location was perfect for visiting the area, it’s coast, castles and pretty little towns. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

  • "We had a very comfortable stay here."

The house is roomy and the gardens are perfect for our dogs. The garden was secure, and it was nice to sit out there in the evenings. The kitchen was well stocked, from a air fryer to coffee machine, the only thing is we found the oven slow to cook. Other than that the kitchen was great. Really helpful to have a freezer. On arrival we had some essentials left for us, which was very helpful and a nice touch. Lots of bits for is to use in the cupboard, like extra dog bowls, outdoor games. Very well-stocked and useful items. The bathroom is downstairs, it's a good size but a little awkward trying to stand up and Shower in the bath, as the ceiling is sloped. Also it could do with an extractor fan. Again it was well stocked, with shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. Lovely touch. The rooms were comfortable and a good size. Beds were comfortable. There is only room for parking one car, and no bigger than a medium car. A couple of times we got blocked in, it can be tricky getting out of the drive onto the main road. It's easier not to reverse out. Overall we had a lovely stay here, we would recommend it, especially if you have dogs and children. Lovely five minute walk to the river, where there's a cafe and park for children. Not far from the shops, short drive. Considering there was a main road just outside, it's very quiet and peaceful.

  • "The listing should really state that the owners live next door as we like full privacy."

We only found out when we got there. They mustve gone into the garden at some point to remove garden cushions during overnight rain which we found quite intrusive. Nice property but could do with a shower.

Thank you for your feedback. The privacy of our visitors is very important to us, however we have found that being on hand to answer any questions is appreciated by our guests. The cushions were removed when the garden was not in use because of a heavy downpour. They were dried and returned the following morning, again when the garden was not in use. We do hope that you enjoyed your stay in this beautiful area. Property Owner

The kitchen has everything you could need (tea, coffee, milk, bread, pots/pans etc), the bedrooms are all done to a lovely standard and the living room is cosy with a snug by the window to look out over the garden. The garden itself is one of the biggest I’ve seen for a holiday let and has a table and chairs for dining and a bench for soaking up the early morning sun with leafy green views. It’s also totally dog safe! It’s a 5 minute walk down to the river which is beautiful. Overall the perfect relaxing setting for a wonderful break and I will definitely be returning.

Lots of extra bits and pieces for a holiday with dogs, like additional entrance areas for wet shoes and towels, heated clothes airer for damp bits and pieces, plenty of coat hooks etc. You wouldn’t have thought it was ‘dog friendly’ accommodation as it was so clean and fresh, like no other dogs had been in there ! Particularly liked the extra effort of the hosts … shampoo and conditioner, washing up liquid, bin liners, bread, butter, milk and even fresh scones and jam ! The garden was beautiful and perfect for our two mini dachshunds, there was no way they were escaping ! A very peaceful and lovely outlook with no surrounding noise. We had a fabulous stay and the hosts who lived next door were extremely helpful in sorting a heating problem out very quickly when we arrived. I’m very reluctant to book ‘dog friendly’ accommodation as ifs often a bit off putting but this place exceeded expectations. Five stars !
