  • "The cottage was fabulous, very spacious, very very well equipped, everything you would possibly need was available."

The quality of the towels and bedding was absolutely excellent, something I love in a property but rarely see. Well Done to the owners. The information pack was jam-packed with detailed information. Everything in the cottage was of high quality and worked perfectly. It was immaculate. I wouldn't hesitate to stay in the cottage again and have already recommended it to friends and family.

  • "We have had a wonderful stay in Craster and the cottage has been superb."

Love the high quality contents and if I could take home the Superking bed with me, I would - it was sooo comfy. We have had some great days out and some fabulous meals too. This was the holiday we needed after the last 18 months and just wish we could stay longer. Thank you.

  • "One of the best cottages we have stayed in over the 20 years we have been visiting Northumberland."

We have never stayed in Craster before but we loved it - the weather was fab and we had a great time spotting the dolphins off the harbour in the bay. Thank you.

  • "The cottage was immaculate on arrival and what a cottage."

It was so comfy and spacious and we loved sitting out in the front garden each evening - total bliss! We will book again, love it, thank you!

  • "On arrival we found Coble Cottage totally charming, the roses at the front of the property are outstanding."

The interior is very tasteful in decor, furnishings and lighting. The fireplace is quite a statement. There is ample kitchen equipment, very good size fridge and freezer and we appreciated the 'extras' on arrival. The linens and towels are of high quality and the cottage appeared spotlessly clean and well maintained. We were lucky to have good weather and so able to enjoy the outdoor garden space, the view over to the harbour is spectacular, we could have stayed forever - we absolutely loved Coble Cottage and hope to stay there again in the future.

  • "Very well equipped cottage in a lovely location right near the harbour in Craster."

Very comfortable and a great base to explore the Northumbrian coast. Lots of walking routes nearby as well as a fantastic pub within easy walking distance. Close to the smokery too, so fresh seafood is easily purchased. Highly recommended.

Beautifully furnished and so well equipt, it was a real pleasure to have our holiday there. Location is fantastic, especially being able to have smoked kippers for breakfast and fantastic pint and meal at the jolly fisherman - all two minutes from the cottage.

About the location

CRASTER

Alnwick 7 miles; Embleton 3 miles.

A picturesque village that seems to tumble into the sea, Craster was an important fishing harbour in the 17th century and is still famous for its oak cured kippers which have graced the best breakfast tables for more than 150 years. The village offers a pub serving food, a fish restaurant and Robson's famous fish shop. There is also an excellent children's playground. Nearby are some of Northumberland's finest sandy beaches. Just south of Craster is Howick Hall, which was built in 1782 and has associations with the Grey family, including Earl Grey the great social reformer and tea enthusiast. The gardens at Howick Hall are open to the public during the spring and summer and are especially worth a visit during the rhododendron season. A walk along the coastal footpath to the north of Craster brings you to the dramatic ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle - the largest ruined castle in Northumberland.
