  • "This is a spacious and very comfortable cottage with plenty of room for everybody."

The beds are great and the kitchen is extremely well equipped; you could attempt most sorts of cooking (including baking!). There are also loads of games in a cupboard for evenings and rainy days. The cottage is located on the road between Bellingham and Keilder and feels well away from civilisation while being within easy reach of facilities and things to do. I would come back here again and thoroughly recommend the property.

Good morning, thank you kindly for such positive comments regarding the cottage, they're greatly appreciated. We too feel it's a fab location to be able to enjoy the open countryside yet access shops, amenities and the fantastic opportunities Kielder and the surrounding area has to offer. Thank you for being such lovely guests and you are more than welcome to return. Best wishes from us. Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely 5 night stay at Hoyt Cottage."

The property has been recently renovated to a very high standard, and is amongst the most comfortable and well equipped self-catering accommodation we've stayed in. Plenty to do in the area for our young family. Donna and Andy went the extra mile to make sure we were looked after. Thank you.

Good morning, thank you so much for your positive feedback. We genuinely appreciate your comments and it's lovely to know people have enjoyed their stay at the cottage and in Northumberland as a whole, it's a hidden gem and we totally agree, there are so many things to do for all age groups. Thank you kindly for booking the cottage, we may even see you again sometime hopefully! Property Owner

  • "Very pleasant and comfortable stay."

The property is wonderfully situated and beautifully presented with a thoughtful goodie basket on arrival. The games and DVDs for stop at home days are a great touch. Well equipped and spacious kitchen for sophisticated home catering and ultra modern bathrooms. The bedrooms are stylish and comfortable and beds dreamy to sleep on. We liked the idyllically quiet location, equally convenient for Bellingham and Kielder Water. Washing machine being out of action was challenging for those of us traveling from abroad and living out of a suitcase.

Good morning, a belated thank you for your lovely comments regarding the cottage. We have tried to think of most things re the refurbishment to hopefully enable people to have the most relaxing and comfortable stay possible. Plus the peaceful location within Northumberland National Park is especially welcomed, according to our guests. We are biased but feel very lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the country. We genuinely apologise for the inconvenience of having a washing machine out of action, unfortunately we feel it would intrude on guests to schedule a repair whilst in the cottage, so we have now been able to organise it for the interim between bookings as the summer draws to a close. We hope apart from that issue it was a lovely break for you and your family. Property Owner

Beds and bed linen particularly comfortable. The hosts were lovely and had clearly gone to great lengths to make us feel very welcome. Great for families too - board games, books, table football, fast wifi! Private garden and safely tucked away in a small hamlet next to fields. Very easy parking and short journey to Bellingham, Keilder and 2 great pubs. Very much hoping to return soon please!

Recently refurbished to an excellent standard but has kept its old / traditional charm. Very clean and cozy and extremely well thoughtout and equipt. Loads of walks from the doorstep and only 10mins drive from Kielder Water. We were a group of 5 including a 10 and 7 year olds... Plenty for us all to do and see with loads if games in the cottage to keep the kids occupied in bad weather. We stayed 3nights but would happily of stayed a week. We highly recommend!!!

Thank you so much for your lovely comments. We are very pleased you all had a great stay and enjoyed both the cottage and the beautiful surrounding area of Kielder. • "The property was wonderful, extremely clean, well equipped and beautifully furnished."

The basics such as salt and pepper, and cooking oil were supplied along with tea, coffee, sugar and milk. It was lovely to have a welcome pack of crisps, wine and home baking plus other little bits. So much thought has gone into providing a comfortable and relaxing place to stay and the owners are great too. It was a privilege to be their first guests. The area is beautiful with lots of walks in and around Kielder and a variety of birds and animals too. If it is too wet or cold to be outdoors you can retreat to the warmth of the cottage and light the wood fire while playing one of the games supplied. For the warmer months there is seating in the garden where the bulbs were beginning to come through. It was a real bonus to find a no smoking and pet free cottage, so helpful for those with allergies. We hope to return one day.
