  • "Apart from the quality of the accommodation, the location of the accommodation ..."

Apart from the quality of the accommodation, the location of the accommodation was great, giving access to good restaurants, pubs, shops and parking in Morpeth

  • "Beautiful cottage, spotlessly clean, well equipped & furnished to a high standard."

Very comfortable, excellent location. Morpeth is a perfect base for exploring the area. The whole area is so beautiful. Miles and miles of soft, clean, sandy beaches, not overrun with people. Morpeth itself has several restaurants serving great food with fabulous service within 5minutes walk of the cottage. Robert who owns the cottage was extremely helpful, nothing was too much trouble & the welcome bottle of Prosecco was a lovely touch. Our first time innNorthumberland, it certainly won’t be our last.

  • "The cleanliness was generally great (and important areas like bathroom and kitchen surfaces were definitely clean) but there were some longer term things we noticed like marks on walls, door frames and curtains."

Kitchen tap is loose and we struggled to get the front two burners on the hob to stay on once lit.

Delightful cottage in perfect location down a little alleyway right in the centre of town. Surprising amount of space. Everything provided. Excellent central heating (very handy when you wake up to snow on the first day).

Position of cottage difficult to find initially but once there it was comfortable, clean and well equipped together with tea, coffee etc and fresh flowers An explanation of the parking system in Northumberland would have been useful prior to arrival

  • "Fantastic very quiet dog friendly cottage!"

Exceeded our expectations - it was home from home! Couldn't ask for a more equipped cottage, lovely and clean and the owner's service was excellent - thank you! Great location for visiting the North East - Durham on the way up! Alnwick down to Amble, then Blyth down to North Shields and Newcastle on the way home! As we didn't get to do everything we will be back! What a beautiful part of the UK!

  • "The cottage was well situated in a lovely town."

It was well equipped, comfortable and peaceful. We very much enjoyed visiting Northumberland and Morpeth is ideally situated to see the area - we are very glad we chose Wheatsheaf Yard and Morpeth to stay in. There is lots to see and do in the area in a short drive and you can even get a train to Edinburgh. Lots of good restaurants, pubs and shops in the town and pretty loval riverside walks and park. We would definitely want to stay here again if visiting this area.

  • "We have stayed at both number 4 and number 2 Wheatsheaf yard."

Many of the comments made for number 4 also apply to number 2: Both cottages are very good and we would happily stay in either again. Number 2 Wheatsheaf is located up an alley that leads to a courtyard shared by 4 properties only. The courtyard is extremely pleasant and secluded; it is difficult to remember your located in the center of Morpeth. The garden is excellent and a very pleasant place in which to sit and simply enjoy the sun, flowers and 'away from it all' feeling. The cottage is well equipped, with good decoration; it is very clean. All modern appliances are available. The property is not directly overlooked which adds to the privacy. The local cafés are very convenient and the food selection is good. Morpeth is an excellent base to explore the beauties of Northumberland and all National Trust properties as well as the breathtaking coastline. Our thanks again to the owner whom we found very friendly and supportive.

  • "This is the most wonderful, tucked away little cottage in the middle of Morpeth yet still a very quiet spot."

The best equipped kitchen we have ever found in a holiday rental - even a mixing bowl, weighing scales and muffin tin were there if you wanted to do some baking. Everything was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The owner checked to make sure that we were ok, and couldn't have been more helpful. We would be very happy to come back here.

  • "Great cottage in the centre of Morpeth with a quiet courtyard to sit out in and have a glass of wine or morning coffee."

owner very attentive and helpful. We were very lucky with the weather, Mediterranean-like, but even so Morpeth is an attractive and well serviced little town, no shortage of coffee shops and restaurants. Lovely walks along the river. We would go back and would definitely want to stay in Draughtsman’s Cottage.

  • "Lovely cottage, very well equipped, it even has hair straighteners!"

In a tucked away position but right in the centre of Morpeth, which is a fantastic town. The cottage is right next to a coffee shop which serves excellent bacon rolls and amazing cake, so ticked all the boxes. Owner very helpful, we will definitely be going back.

  • "We stayed here for four weeks between house moves and loved it."

The cottage was beautiful, comfortable, spacious and very well equipped. We loved being in the town centre: the river, market, shops and restaurants were all on our doorstep. Parking nearby was easy. Nothing was too much trouble for the owner.

  • "I was travelling to Morpeth for work purposes and found there was a lack of quality accommodation being advertised in the area - thank goodness I found this wee gem."

The cottage was exactly what I was looking for, cosy and comfortable with a well kitted out kitchen making self catering a breeze! Despite being in the town centre it was really quiet at night and the parking permits provided by the owner meant I had no issues with parking. I'd absolutely recommend this cottage and will book again when I'm next in the Morpeth area.
