Lovingly styled, this luxury cottage offers character and charm, and is an ideal base for families or friends wishing to explore the delights of Northumberland and the surrounding area.

A great deal of thought has been put into the interior of Hillgate Cottage, and it offers two charming bedrooms, both with the benefit of sleek, white en-suite facilities.

The well-appointed cosy sitting room has a warming woodburner, housed in a red brick fireplace, a perfect place to curl up on the sofa with a cuppa after a hard day’s exploring.

The kitchen area is stunning with a monochrome colour scheme; an island unit houses the sink and two glass pendants light the area beneath, the range cooker has five gas burners and will delight even the fussiest chef!

Steps from the kitchen lead to a dining area with bi-folding doors onto the south facing patio, what could be nicer than throwing open the doors to let the sun shine in whilst you dine in style?

Take a stroll from the doorstep along the banks of the River Wansbeck, or marvel at the ruins of Morpeth Castle with its gatehouse, the only intact part of the structure remaining.

Just a two minutes’ walk from your holiday home takes you to the centre of Morpeth with its wonderful selection of independent shops to peruse and a wide variety of restaurants and cafés to sample.

Morpeth is also within easy reach of the A1 which will take you to all the delights Northumberland has to offer.

Why not head to Alnwick with its renowned castle and gardens, Brinkburn Priory with its peaceful riverside setting or the National Trust's Cragside?
