Ideal location from which to visit Morpeth, Seahouses, Whitley Bay etc. I would have no hesitation in booking again, and recommending to others.

  • "Had a lovely holiday at Reivers Gate."

The bungalow is well equipped, Lynn has pre-empted everything you might need whilst you are away on holiday. Reivers Gate is situated in a lovely village location, which is very handy for all the tourist sights you will probably visit whilst you are in Northumberland. The welcome pack was gratefully received. There is also a courtyard garden, which is secure if you are brining your dog with you and there is parking right at the back of the property. We would definitely recommend Reivers Gate for a lovely comfortable getaway.

The welcome pack was a lovely touch especially the fresh fruit. We lost our dog in April and we had chosen this cottage with him in mind, he would have loved it. Enclosed garden with furniture was a real sun trap. Would definitely book again.

  • "A very well equipped bungalow that had everything we needed, even dog bowls, treats and towels for the dog."

A welcome pack of bread, scones, clotted cream, jam, margarine, fruit and wine was a lovely touch too. The local shop was just around the corner and just up the lane from there was a walk that we did every morning with the dog, before heading out and about for the day. It was ideally situated for the surrounding area and we travelled to lots of different places like Druridge Bay, Dunstanburgh Castle, Hadrian's wall, Carlisle Park in Morpeth, Rothbury, Warkworth Castle and Whitley Bay all lovely places and dog friendly too. Lynne messaged a couple of times with updates and to apologise when the bungalow wasn't quite ready for our arrival time as she'd had to give some bits a touch up of paint, but this wasn't an issue for us but it was nice to be kept informed. I would definitely recommend this property and its only because I like to travel to different areas otherwise I'd definitely stay here again.

  • "A lovely bungalow."

Very clean throughout with everything you’d ever need. Some lovely touches with the welcome pack on arrival and milk in the fridge. Even some treats for the dog! Set in peaceful surroundings with a great village green, which our football and cricket mad son enjoyed most evenings playing until the sun went down! The village shop is a must for freshly made sandwiches and cakes etc and the couple who run it are lovely! The local pub is very welcoming and just a few minutes drive down the road is another pub which has an extensive menu and very friendly staff. Our first visit to Northumberland and certainly will not be our last! Loved the countryside and it’s historic castles.

Great welcome hamper including a bowl of fruit was much appreciated there was even a tv in both bedrooms. Unfortunately for us the weather was not perfect but we still managed to exploring a lot of the beautiful Northumbrian countryside. Small village shop close by with loads to chose from. Pizza van comes on a Thursday (details on board near shop also a fish and chip van on a Friday information on notice board next to shop. All in all we had a lovely stay. Also which I found was a good idea as soon as the bungalow is ready you get a text.

  • "Loved this bungalow."

It was cosy and the bed and settees were comfy. In spite of it's size it was really well-equipped and everything well thought out. The welcome hamper was delicious . The house was spotless and clean. A true credit to the owners. The kitchen is quite small but well-designed. However, I never really mastered the new electric hob efficiently with numerous buttons to press to turn on and set temperatures. Just a few minutes walk away, however, is a lovely shop selling homemade food and cakes. On Thursdays a pizza van appeared and Friday a Fish and Chip van so we had plenty of options for food. A pub is also close by that serves food. For the dogs we were pleasantly surprised to have been left treats. Bowls, throws and poo bags were also provided which makes you feel like your dogs are truly welcomed. The garden was paved and had seating a swing and was very nice. It was fully enclosed but we weren't sure if the little terrier could squeeze through the gate bars so we used the box for glass recycling outside the kitchen door to block it as a precaution. For dog walks you are a few minutes from a green and a walk through allotments. About 5 minutes away is Longhorsley common and there are networks of paths extending onwards. Further afield (20 mins) is Rothbury a lovely small market town with lots of walks and about 30 mins + are the beaches at Alnmouth, Amble, Seahouses etc. We have passed through Longhorsley many times driving up to Scotland, blink and you will miss it but having stayed at Reivers Retreat it is certainly a place I would recommend.

Was able to settle in quickly and a good base for all famous attractions. The the only issue was the lack of grass in the back garden but only because our dog is used to doing her business on grass or stones. Otherwise the best holiday we have had and even the weather was great.
