"We had a wonderful experience."
The cottage is in an ideal position to access Northumberland and close to our family. The bonus was the secure yard for our two little dogs and the parking lit up at the back
Thanks to Lynn for a wonderful experience
Pleased you enjoyed your holiday, thank you for your feedback, I really appreciate it. Kind regards Lynn Property Owner
"I really enjoyed my stay at Reivers Retreat."
Very clean, well equipped and comfortable. Very generous welcome basket provided. Private and dog safe garden area. Private parking right at the garden gate. Ideal location from which to visit Morpeth, Seahouses, Whitley Bay etc. I would have no hesitation in booking again, and recommending to others.
Thank you for your kind feedback, I do appreciate it, so pleased you enjoyed your stay. Kind regards Lynn Property Owner
"Property is located in a quiet village with convenient parking and access."
We appreciated very much the thoughtful gesture of food and fruit on our arrival.
"The cottage is in a perfect place to visit Northumberland this is my 2 time we have stopped there and I will book it again."
Everything you want to have in this lovely cottage very clean, welcome pack very good i would recommend this cottage to anyone, great for my dog,i could go on forever just one word to say Great.
"Had a lovely holiday at Reivers Gate."
The bungalow is well equipped, Lynn has pre-empted everything you might need whilst you are away on holiday. Reivers Gate is situated in a lovely village location, which is very handy for all the tourist sights you will probably visit whilst you are in Northumberland. The welcome pack was gratefully received. There is also a courtyard garden, which is secure if you are brining your dog with you and there is parking right at the back of the property. We would definitely recommend Reivers Gate for a lovely comfortable getaway.
"Longhorsley and this property is ideal as a base for exploring the Northumberland coast."
Very clean and friendly property, would recommend it to anyone.
"Gorgeous bungalow, exactly as described, located in a very friendly village, ideal location to access and explore Northumbria."
Thank you for your review it is much appreciated.

"The cottage was exceptionally clean and well equipped."
The welcome pack was a lovely touch especially the fresh fruit. We lost our dog in April and we had chosen this cottage with him in mind, he would have loved it. Enclosed garden with furniture was a real sun trap. Would definitely book again.
"A very well equipped bungalow that had everything we needed, even dog bowls, treats and towels for the dog."
A welcome pack of bread, scones, clotted cream, jam, margarine, fruit and wine was a lovely touch too.
The local shop was just around the corner and just up the lane from there was a walk that we did every morning with the dog, before heading out and about for the day.
It was ideally situated for the surrounding area and we travelled to lots of different places like Druridge Bay, Dunstanburgh Castle, Hadrian's wall, Carlisle Park in Morpeth, Rothbury, Warkworth Castle and Whitley Bay all lovely places and dog friendly too.
Lynne messaged a couple of times with updates and to apologise when the bungalow wasn't quite ready for our arrival time as she'd had to give some bits a touch up of paint, but this wasn't an issue for us but it was nice to be kept informed.
I would definitely recommend this property and its only because I like to travel to different areas otherwise I'd definitely stay here again.
"Absolutely wonderful property, so clean and comfortable."
Had all we needed and more and in a fabulous location. Couldn’t fault it, five stars.
"Accommodation used as a base to explore this beautiful part of the North East."
Welcome pack provided was excellent, thank you so much. Accommodation had all we required and more. Thank you so much
"An excellent holiday home from home."
Well furnished and fully equipped. Excellent location, beautiful beaches and lots of interesting places to visit.
Looking forward to returning next year.
"Enjoyed our stay."
Accommodation was excellent very clean. Welcome pack was a nice touch very much appreciated. The enclosed garden was perfect for our 15 month dog and the jar of treats was nice and he really enjoyed them. It was home from home. Thank you.
"The house was exceptionally well cleaned and lots of little extras provided, a lovely welcome pack including dog treats and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend."
"A lovely bungalow."
Very clean throughout with everything you’d ever need. Some lovely touches with the welcome pack on arrival and milk in the fridge. Even some treats for the dog!
Set in peaceful surroundings with a great village green, which our football and cricket mad son enjoyed most evenings playing until the sun went down!
The village shop is a must for freshly made sandwiches and cakes etc and the couple who run it are lovely!
The local pub is very welcoming and just a few minutes drive down the road is another pub which has an extensive menu and very friendly staff.
Our first visit to Northumberland and certainly will not be our last! Loved the countryside and it’s historic castles.
"The bungalow has all amenities and a local pub in walking distance and is dog friendly too."
Great welcome hamper including a bowl of fruit was much appreciated there was even a tv in both bedrooms. Unfortunately for us the weather was not perfect but we still managed to exploring a lot of the beautiful Northumbrian countryside. Small village shop close by with loads to chose from. Pizza van comes on a Thursday (details on board near shop also a fish and chip van on a Friday information on notice board next to shop. All in all we had a lovely stay. Also which I found was a good idea as soon as the bungalow is ready you get a text.
"The cottage was absolutely spotlessly clean."
Very well decorated and colourful.
Also the welcome pack was superb.
We could not fault anything and would highly recommend this property set in a lovely village.
"This cottage was spotlessly clean, the owners had thought of everything you could possibly need and more!"
There was a lovely welcome basket and the weather was perfect for exploring the beautiful Northumbrian countryside.
"Lovely bungalow , close to many places to explore Northumberland countryside and coastal walks."
The house has all amenities and a local pub in walking distance where we had a lovely Sunday lunch at the pub is dog friendly too.
Great welcome hamper was much appreciated!
My daughter loved the great selection of board games and even a tv in both rooms.
"The bungalow was so homely, spotlessly clean, warm and welcoming."
The welcome pack left by the owners was just lovely. Couldn't fault anything. Will certainly try and return next year.
"Loved this bungalow."
It was cosy and the bed and settees were comfy. In spite of it's size it was really well-equipped and everything well thought out. The welcome hamper was delicious . The house was spotless and clean. A true credit to the owners. The kitchen is quite small but well-designed. However, I never really mastered the new electric hob efficiently with numerous buttons to press to turn on and set temperatures. Just a few minutes walk away, however, is a lovely shop selling homemade food and cakes. On Thursdays a pizza van appeared and Friday a Fish and Chip van so we had plenty of options for food. A pub is also close by that serves food. For the dogs we were pleasantly surprised to have been left treats. Bowls, throws and poo bags were also provided which makes you feel like your dogs are truly welcomed. The garden was paved and had seating a swing and was very nice. It was fully enclosed but we weren't sure if the little terrier could squeeze through the gate bars so we used the box for glass recycling outside the kitchen door to block it as a precaution. For dog walks you are a few minutes from a green and a walk through allotments. About 5 minutes away is Longhorsley common and there are networks of paths extending onwards. Further afield (20 mins) is Rothbury a lovely small market town with lots of walks and about 30 mins + are the beaches at Alnmouth, Amble, Seahouses etc. We have passed through Longhorsley many times driving up to Scotland, blink and you will miss it but having stayed at Reivers Retreat it is certainly a place I would recommend.
"A lovely stay in a spotless and well thought property felt more like a home than a holiday let, communication was excellent and the basket was a lovely surprise would recommend without a doubt."
"Rivers retreat, exceeded our expectations, the welcome hamper was a real surprise and made us feel very welcome."
Situated in a lovely village location not far from the A1, so well situated to explore the area. The village pub offers good food at a reasonable price, the village shop was well stocked and staff very friendly.
Everything in the accommodation was of good quality and was extremley clean and comfortable, kitchen was well equipped. Was nice to have a choice of a bath or shower after a days walking. Will definately be booking
"A gorgeous bungalow, fabulous welcome pack, clean and tidy with all mod cons."
Was able to settle in quickly and a good base for all famous attractions. The the only issue was the lack of grass in the back garden but only because our dog is used to doing her business on grass or stones. Otherwise the best holiday we have had and even the weather was great.
This accommodation is a very well equipped bungalow. The owners have thought of everything including a very nice welcome pack. The location is excellent for national trust and English heritage properties and for exploring the Northumberland coast. I would highly recommend this property.
"Would certainly recommend this bungalow, ideal position in a lovely village."
Very clean, everything provided& an excellent welcome basket! Would revisit in the future.
"The Best. Clean, comfortable accommodation with a superb welcome pack."
Situated in a small village with friendly local pub 100 yards away. Dog walk nearby (200 yards) with superb beaches a 20 minute drive away. Excellent location for visiting and sightseeing in the area. The owner's communication was very good. Cannot praise this experience highly enough.

"Reivers Gate has everything you need for a perfect holiday; the property is very well equipped and it is packed with thoughtful extras that make it a very special holiday home."
The owner Lynn has thought of everything, even a sewing kit for those little emergencies. The welcome basket was a lovely surprise, full of goodies, wine, scones, bread, jam and marmalade, milk, butter and cream in the fridge. I can highly recommend this little Gem and can't wait to go back.
"Would highly recommend this cottage, we arrived to a lovely welcome pack for ourselves and the dog."

"The cottage is perfectly located for visiting the coastal areas and the Cheviots."
It is also close to major road links to go up north or travel down. The villagers were very friendly and the village shop covered most daily necessities. The owners couldn’t have made us feel more welcome. Excellent welcome pack as well as a bowl of fruit and milk and butter in the fridge for our arrival. The cottage had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. We had a much needed and welcoming break and would definitely return to this lovely cottage.
"We had a great time exploring the area, the cottage was warm and welcoming to return to after our day trips."
Fantastic welcome pack including dog treats the added bonus was being able to take three dogs.
I would recommend the Northumberland arms and The Jolly Fisherman (Craster) both serve amazing food.
"A lovely break in our favourite county."
The cottage was in a pleasant, quiet location on the edge of the village. Warm and cosy , the “welcome pack” was generous and contributed to a really relaxing week away.
"The bungalow is well situated for access to almost anywhere in Northumberland with the A697 going through the village and very close to the A1."
It is a lovely, cosy, wonderfully equipped property, the best we have ever stayed in as the owner has thought of everything. Always warm with comfortable beds and sofas, quality towels and linens. Longhorsley is a pretty village with a shop and a pub. The locals are very friendly and the pub food is extremely tasty. It is dog friendly in the bar and we enjoyed two excellent evening visits. We visit Northumberland often and most definitely will return to Reivers Retreat.
