  • "Enjoyed our second stay at this immaculately presented cottage, a great base from where we explored rural Northumberland and visited family members."

  • "The Cottage provides fully what is described in the details, but has upside too in the cosy, comfortable atmosphere created because of the careful attention paid by the owners."

From Ingoe we thoroughly enjoyed the many places in rural Northumberland that make staying just 7 days too short a time, so we'll return here soon (and that has nothing to do with the gifts awaiting our arrival. Many thanks).

  • "Wonderful property… the owners have gone above and beyond to make sure every detail is perfect."

Beautiful decor and very comfortable beds with lovely bed linen. Everywhere was spotlessly clean too. This property was a real find and a perfect base to explore Northumberland with many National Trust and English Heritage properties within an easy drive and the spectacular Hadrian’s Wall virtually on your doorstep. Very highly recommended property.

  • "Lovely property once we got through the door."

However we need a horizontal property and we would not have booked if we had known about the rough steps and sloping path from the road. That was very difficult for Mrs M. Inside was comfortable and well equipped but we could not get BBC 1 & 2 on the TV, so we had to use iplayer on the laptop to watch Strictly Come Dancing. Also could not get a wide-angle spray from the shower head. Bed and seating were very comfortable and it was easy to keep the place warm. When the sun came out it was very pleasant in the conservatory. Over all we enjoyed our stay

It’s in a lovely peaceful location, but easy access into Newcastle and other places of interest in Northumberland. We had to ring the owner on arrival and he was excellent, attended and helped us immediately. Would definitely visit again.

  • "A beautiful immaculate cottage ."

It is spacious and even better than the photos show. The kitchen is bright and cheery and the owners left a lovely welcome pack with homemade muffins which was a lovely surprise. Also a vase with sunflowers - a nice touch . The upstairs twin bedroom has firm but comfortable mattresses. We will definitely return to explore the area.

  • "This is a very well appointed cottage, which is kept immaculately clean."

It would be hard to find fault. The parking can be rather tricky but we were aware of this in advance and it was not a major issue. The location was ideal for visits to many sites within a reasonably short travelling time.

  • "The cottage is just as lovely as the photos on the website depict - it definitely has the wow factor when you enter."

It was well equipped, especially as there were just two of us staying. We found it clean, comfortable & the welcome supplies were very appreciated. The comprehensive guidance notes were also very useful. I took my own hairdryer but needn't have as there was one in a bedroom drawer. We'd be very happy to return for another stay & would definitely recommend to family & friends.

  • "‘This is gorgeous’."

The words I spoke upon arriving at the cottage, my husband was equally as delighted. A pretty, well equipped cottage in delightful scenic countryside - it was idyllic. The only downside was that as we were attending a wedding over the weekend, we didn’t get as much time to relax with a glass of wine in the conservatory whilst admiring the beautiful wildflower garden, and taking in the scents of the lilac and honeysuckle.

  • "Mum and I loved the cottage."

It was beautiful, comfortable, stylish and perfect. We loved everything about this sweet little cottage. We would highly recommend it to anyone. It had everything we needed and the outlook over fields and meadows was the icing on the cake. It’s perfectly located for visits to Corbridge, Hexham, Newcastle and a little further afield for Alnwick, Craster and Bamburgh. David, the owner was only a phone call away and popped by to help with a query, he couldn’t have been more helpful. The thoughtful welcome gifts were much appreciated. We very much hope to return to 5 Richley Terrace.

  • "This cottage is stunning and lacks for nothing."

It is immaculate in every way and spotlessly clean. The decoration and furniture is modern and tasteful and the kitchen equipped with everything you could possibly need. We’ve just visited so the weather was chilly but the wood fuelled stove in the kitchen feeds the central heating and the house was toasty warm and if you need any extra warmth there is a wood burner in the lounge which adds to the romance of a winter stay. There’s also a fabulous king size bed, which was just bliss! The owners left us several goodies which was a truly lovely touch and very much appreciated. We hope to return in the not too distant future and wouldn’t hesitate to highly recommend this oasis of calm for anyone looking to unwind.

  • "The cottage has been upgraded to a high spec with good amenities."

The location may be considered a little remote with no shop or pub in the immediate vicinity but that’s exactly why we chose it! The views and scenery were breathtaking and National Trust properties featured within short car distances. We did not meet the owners but they responded quickly to a question we had and a nice welcome pack was left. We have done several Sykes cottages and this rates as one of the best! The price was excellent value.

The log burning stove was a welcome addition on these colder evenings, providing a cosy environment to relax in. Everything you could want or need had been catered for by the hosts. Well located to explore the Northumberland coast as well as Newcastle. Definitely recommend to anyone wishing to get away for a peaceful countryside break.

It was very clean and well equipped. Great location to get around by car in easy reach of some great towns and national trust properties. It was very quiet and friendly locals little traffic as well. Looking forward to returning to this location. The parking is not on the property but not too far away. Suitable for a small to medium car. Large cars can park opposite the cottage on a verge.

  • "A very clean and comfortable house with a well equipped kitchen."

Garden a bit overgrown and hedges blocking view. Access a little bit of a problem as parking not right outside the cottage. There is a really nice deli in Matfen but the pub there does not do food. Corbridge is nearest for shopping and meals out. Sorry this sounds a bit negative, it is a lovely house we really enjoyed our stay but I feel that these are things that are useful to know beforehand.

We stayed for a total of 10 days and found interesting things to do as a family everyday. The cottage itself is furnished with a modern and cozy style. The kitchen was well-equipped and we enjoyed sitting in the living room to relax after a day out, and had many memorable evening sitting at the conservatory dinning and enjoying the beautiful garden. The owner had been very thoughful in supplying us with a welcome basket and home-baking. He was also excellent his communication and ensure that we had everything we needed.
