  • "Met with th owner,at an arranged time, and were shown around an amazing apartment."

    Everything stated in the advert was as found. Could not find any faults and would use the apartment again.

  • "A very comfortable apartment with quality fittings."

    However, there is a busy road almost next to the apartment block, which was rather noisy at times. The property (no 3 not 8) had no chest of drawers in the double bedroom, although a cupboard built under the eaves had shelves which we were able to use. Because of the eaves a shorter person needs to sleep on the eave side of the double bed. We did enjoy our stay though as we were very close to the Sniperley P&R, which was free for concessions, making Durham city easy to visit for the cathedral and castle etc. We would also recommend Beamish and Seaham.

  • "There were no instruction books for the electrical appliances in the property - I managed the operate the washing machine because it was similar to one I had previously owned and so was the oven."

    Your instructions for finding the property if travelling north on A167need to include information to ignore first Kimblesworth sign as it brings you in the wrong end of village and if you come up hill and take first left you are nowhere near the property. I appreciated owner meeting me at property and helping me unload car as there is not a lift either.

  • "Well placed apartment on the ring road with easy access into the centre."

    A very well equipped kitchen the only thing we were missing was a cheese grater! We will use this apartment again as it is close to our friends. Handy shopping centre close by and small shop within easy walking distance which sells most things (hubby forgot his toothbrush!). Friendly neighbours too.

  • "This apartment is an excellent base for exploring the area."

    Durham is a 10 minute drive away and is a fabulous historic city, plus the coast and countryside around are equally accessible and worth visiting...Seaham, Whitburn, Herrington Country Park, Finchale Priory, Beamish. The apartment has everything you need to be comfortable...well equipped, great shower, and super comfy bed. Secure parking and reliable wifi were advertised and delivered. I would visit again, but there is a big world out there!

  • "A very well equipped apartment which provided a great base for a holiday visiting both the Northumberland coast and Hadrians Wall."

    Easy access to the A1 made travelling a pleasure. The only disadvantage is as mentioned by a previous reviewer that the kitchen requires an extra socket for the toaster. Otherwise the kitchen is well laid out and equipped with everything required . The proximity to the Arnison Centre with Sainsbury's Lidl etc was also useful as it allowed us to travel light and buy food when we arrived,and also but anything we needed on our way back daily.

    Lovely location for Newcastle,Durham and Beamish. The only thing that could have been better was the mattress,it was fine if you like a hard bed.but having soft mattreses at home,it was a little uncomfortable.but don't let that put you off this property ,it was exceptional.

About the location

DURHAM

Chester-le-Street 11 miles; Newcastle upon Tyne 21 miles;

Situated in one of the most beautiful counties of England, Durham city is one of the jewels in England’s crown. Dominated by the historic centre, a World Heritage Site, the city is home to magnificent Durham Cathedral, with its breath-taking vaulted ceiling and splendid architecture. The cathedral, the final resting place of the Venerable Bede, is one of the finest examples of Norman architecture in the whole of Europe. Durham Castle stands side by side with the cathedral, on a prominent hilltop site, encircled by the wooded slopes of the River Wear below. The city itself offers elegant buildings and fascinating narrow streets with excellent shopping, eating and drinking to suit all tastes. Add to that the ease of access to the rest of this historic county, “Land of the Prince Bishops”, and Durham has much to offer the discerning traveller, from Medieval castles to marvellous landscapes and scenic walks.
