It was spotlessly clean and we'd been left a range of items for our stay, this included, cake, biscuits, coffee, fresh fruit, flowers and a bottle of sparkling wine. Our dog also loved his welcome pack. The hot tub was a huge hit with everyone and we throughly enjoyed visiting the area. We'd also strongly recommend the Travellers Rest for food. Thank you for letting us stay at your lovely cottage.

The cottage is fantastic. It is very comfortable and the decoration, fixtures and fittings are of a very high standard. It has everything you need. The outside of the cottage is very private and well kept and has a lovely garden. The hot tub was a nice addition and was the first time we had been in one. I would thoroughly recommend this cottage.

Located down a quiet leafy lane, the cottage is a 3 minute walk to a bus stop where a regular bus service has you in the centre of Durham in 10 minutes. I would strongly recommend Nes cottage for any family or group looking for quality accommodation in the Durham City / County Durham area.

There were a few midges in the area, but they didn’t bite ! I think it was just because the weather warmed up that week. I would definitely recommend this cottage and go back.

Nes Cottage is beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and has everything you need for a wonderful stay. Communication with the owner was excellent. We had 2 young boys and 2 dogs with us and it couldn’t have been more perfect, an enclosed garden, hot tub and a nature reserve and woodland walk just over the road meant we didn’t have to go far to keep them entertained for a long weekend. Perfect location for exploring nearby attractions, we will definitely be back. Thank you!

The area is lovely with great amenities. The only improvement I feel that could be made is the hot tub is very small, only 4 seats with the cottage sleeping 6, this meant we couldn’t all be in the hot tub together which was a shame. The kitchen was really well equipped with everything anyone could ever need, however, there was very little space in cupboards to put food etc that we had brought. Even the weather exceeded expectations since on the whole it was better than expected with advance forecasts predicting rain towards the end of the week which didn't really come to much. Nes cottage provided a very comfortable home from home being equipped as well as most homes. It is nice to come away and find enough crockery and pans to be able to prepare meals as required particularly in these coved aware days when unfortunately eating out is not the easy option that would normally be first choice for most families for several meals. The local stores were sufficient to supplemented our initial Tesco delivery so we were not struggling to provide meals for the four to six people we had with us. The welcome pack was well thought out and even included a little something for our Daughters small dog who is a very important part of her family.
