"We had an amazing stay the cottage was beautiful and had everything we needed to keep 4 generations comfortable."
Easy access to surrounding areas and also a bus stop straight outside.
"Everything was perfect."
It’s a beautiful spacious property and very comfortable and clean. Bedrooms are large and en suite and lovely walk in showers. It’s in a quiet peaceful village and easy to access Northumberland’s coastline and visitor attractions. The only slight disadvantage it has is the small kitchen. Not room for more than 4 to sit at a table in a compact space. It also meant a walk down a corridor to carry meals down to the dining room. But overall a 5 star property..
"Excellent comfortable property with something for everyone."
Well equipped although the oven is a bit tired and struggled to get to temperature.
"Excellent accommodation Excellent location Accommodated our family perfectly, plenty of room and private space for everyone."
"A beautiful property with plenty of room to spread out Everything was perfect with lovely personal touches."
The kitchen was well equipped, the bedding luxurious and having good internet connection and Sky TV was a bonus. The weather was awful all week so we couldn't make use of the lovely outside space. We would love to come back to this amazing property, hopefully in better weather, as Northumberland is our go to place for a summer break.
"Lovely for quiet holiday but still got plenty to do if you are more active, plenty room to rest in, garden is lovely, enjoyed every moment, loved the secret room."
"We had a fabulous week once again in this property, we have stayed there a few times before and it is always our go-to when back in the UK to visit with friends and family."
This time we really enjoyed being able to make use of the courtyard to sit out to eat during the perfect summer weather. I love this property, it really feels like our home away from home.
"Very spacious accommodation."
Easily fit in family of 10. Could perhaps do with an extra recycling bin
"Barnacre is a fantastic property plenty of space for a big family with 2 lounges ..."
Barnacre is a fantastic property plenty of space for a big family with 2 lounges to relax in and all the bedrooms except one had Televisions in, and the secret room with the pool table was amazing and kept the kids and adults occupied in the evenings, the gardens were large and safe for the kids to run about in, we even had a game of rounders one night, highly recommend and the owner was lovely, we would go back
"We had a fabulous weekend stay at Barnacre."
The cottage was comfortable, clean and child friendly. Beds were extremely comfortable, rooms spacious apart from kitchen but a large dining area made up for this. Only small problem was the large fridge had a puddle on the floor from the freezer side which I reported after leaving. There's a private outdoor area and a spacious area at the front also. We enjoyed nearby Cresswell beach and Morpeth Coronation Fair day nearby. Thanks for a great weekend. We will definitely return.
"Very comfortable, warm and convenient spot for local attractions."
The facilities and layout of the property worked well for the three families with five young children.
"This is the third time we have stayed at this property."
It really feels like home from home. It is spacious enough for our large family to spread out and we love the ensuite bathrooms. It was fun to bring our grandchildren this year for the first time. Our granddaughter really enjoyed running around on the large lawn out front. The village is quiet and beautiful and yet a town is only 3 miles away with all the shopping facilities needed. We will indeed be back!
"Generally the accommodation was of a very high standard, and spacious."
The kitchen lacked some of the polish of the rest of the accommodation, however. There were 9 in our party (5 adults, 4 children) and the oven was inadequate. It was too small and inefficient to cook a meal for that many people. The oven was only effective at it hottest setting, and took much longer to cook than our normal electric fan oven. Also, the property needs a larger dishwasher. It was impossible to get dinner plates in the lower basket without the upper basket raised to its highest setting, which prevented that being used for side plates and dishes, or even some of the glasses. Also, filling all the available space meant that the dishwasher did not clean efffectively. The G-Tech vacuum cleaner provided was so full and clogged with hair that it did not work, and had to be emptied and the roller cleaned, so that we could use it. The property notes folder had very little information contained in it, and there was no contact number for problems. We had a small water leak in an en-suite sink but there was no guidance on how to report it. On the positive side, the availability of Sky tv in both lounges was appreciated, particularly by the children. The bedrooms were very comfortable and well appointed. We would have appreciated more and larger towels when showering, but they were adequate. The laundry facilties were good, with the large capacity washing machine and tumble dryer working well.
The oven is a conventional family size gas double oven. It is always recommended to cook on a higher temperature than a fan oven. The dishwasher was only installed the day before you arrived as a brand new replacement. The contact number is in the Sykes booking information The cleaning lady always empties the vacuum cleaner. Very clean and spacious for a family group of 11.Had a wonderful stay and holiday.
"Fantastic property and facilities, beds super comfy, bathrooms en suite were spotless, living rooms perfect, games room a bonus, dining room spacious for all, courtyard was just brilliant, perfect size for 11 people, the whole place was really generously sized, so not on top of one another, quality kitchen utilities (denby diner set, dualit etc) All round extremely satisfied, thank you."
"The property was absolutely fantastic!"
! Everything you needed was there. I cannot rate this property highly enough!

"Barnacre is the best rental home we have stayed in to date."
A lot of thought and care has gone into the planning and equipping of this gorgeous property and garden. My one suggestion is for a more accessible chair in the lounge for elderly less mobile guests. Our party included three generations which were all accommodated comfortably.
"Our stay at Barnacre was fantastic ."
Everything was lovely and clean .Beds were really comfortable and it was well equipped for the amount of people staying . Fantastic showers in the bathrooms .The weather was fine so we took advantage of the lovely courtyard and the gardens were nice with ducks on the lawn . We are looking forward to booking again for next year. Definitely would recommend for large groups .
