  • "We have stayed at many cottages throughout the country and would say without exception that this is the best we have stayed in."

    Superb location, you can see the sea from your bed and the sunrise and the stars - amazing - lovely walks nearby with bird sanctuaries close too - amble has a lovely market in Sunday’s and all the surrounding towns are great - Warkworth castle closes after 31st October though which was disappointing but the bookshop at Alnwick was incredible well worth a visit - even if it was to see the train track and have a coffee you would be amazed at the books there. Five stars from us gor the whole holiday - didn’t want to leave

  • "Lovely cottage in a lovely area, very close to the beach, perfect for our family including a toddler."

    Nice touch with welcome tray of tea, coffee, milk and shortbread biscuits which were very much appreciated whilst we waited for our shopping to arrive. Two bathrooms/wet room were a great addition with the number of people we booked for, invaluable when we were trying to get out by a specific time on a morning! All in all a great break away, thank you.

  • "Beautiful and comfortable cottage in lovely, quiet old fishing hamlet, 50 yards walk from the beach and plenty more to explore."

    Cannot fault the accommodation at all. Beautifully and tastefully decorated. Beds were really comfortable and bathrooms and kitchen were pristine. Essential WiFi available to keep the teenagers happy. Would highly recommend it.

Situated just a few meters away from the beach, 24 Hauxley Links is a delightful three-bedroom stone-cottage nestled in the attractive hamlet of Low Hauxley.

Boasting sea-views and charming characteristics, this stylish cottage is the ideal base for a Northumberland adventure with friends and family.

As you enter this gorgeous property, you’ll be greeted by a beautifully presented kitchen/diner, home to a wide range of high-quality appliances where you can cook up a storm before gathering around the dining table to enjoy a home-cooked meal with your loved ones.

After an adventure-filled day exploring the local area be sure to make the most of the spacious lounge where you can play a board game with the kids before sinking into the sofas and cosying up in front of the woodburning stove.

Grab a good book and enjoy some peace and quiet in the sun room, boasting stunning views of the surrounding countryside or why not grab a glass of wine and head out into the patio area; the perfect spot to toast to your holiday on a wonderful summers evening.

Downstairs you’ll also find a large, stylish wet room, where you can freshen up after a day hiking or cycling along the Northumberland Coast.

You’ll find an array of different activities to get involved in at Amble, from boat trips and watersports to sailing and fishing or perhaps an afternoon spent cycling along the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Slightly further afield you’ll find some stunning beaches including Druridge Bay, offering miles of golden sand and a beautiful reservoir to explore.

Other attractions worth visiting include the historic site of Warworth Castle, standing proudly on the hilltop above the River Coquet as well as Howick Hall and Gardens, boasting over 65 acres of beautiful gardens and the delightful Earl Grey Tea House where you can enjoy a bite to eat and a cup of Early Grey Tea.

About the location

AMBLE

Warkworth 1 mile; Alnmouth 4 miles.

The bustling little seaport of Amble is situated at the mouth of the River Coquet and is an ideal place for exploring Northumberland. Historically a centre for boatbuilding, Amble offers a marina, a harbour, sandy beaches and coastal walks to the bird sanctuary at Hauxley and country park at Druridge Bay. Large fishing boats moor along the harbour wall and land a variety of fish, prawns, crabs and lobsters. There is a fish centre on the side of the harbour that is now primarily a shell fish hatchery to re-stock levels of lobster and other shell fish, this sells local fish and is open to the public. A mile south of Amble is Coquet Island, an RSPB reserve with a large population of terns, puffins and eider ducks and boat trips around the island can be arranged. The pretty coastal villages of Alnmouth and Craster and numerous superb beaches are only a short drive away, whilst picturesque Warkworth with its castle, charming Alnwick with its castle and award-winning gardens, and the National Trust’s Wallington Hall and Cragside are all within easy reach.
