“Nice spacious cottage, love the hot tub although you struggle to fit 4 people in it.”

Needs some maintenance in various areas, blinds coming off windows, cobwebs everywhere, coffee maker had mould in it as it hadn’t been emptied for a while. Needs a new hose in the garden as it’s as leaky as a sieve and you need it to fill the hot tub up. All the large pans in the kitchen are not induction pans and need to be moved from the cottage and replaced with new ones. It’s hard to cook for 6 people with only small pots and pans. Beds and shower are all huge and water is really hot. Village shop lovely. We didn’t try the pubs sadly due to virus risks. All in all a good cottage with a secure garden for the dogs. Beware some of the neighbours, one complained we were blocking the drive with two cars when we first arrived to unload even through they could easily get past, they made a real scene about they’d have to drive on private property then. Not a great start to the week. Would take much to perk this up and make it better, just some maintenance and TLC.

The property

Resting with a central position, on the main road into Lowick, is this superb stone-built holiday cottage, ideal for touring a spectacular area on the north-east coast and Holy Island.

Step into the entrance hallway, comprising lovely wooden floors and space to hang your coats, and move into the spacious sitting room, kick-back, relax and enjoy the quirky décor complete with ceiling beams and an uplifting multi-fuel stove.

From here you have access up the winding staircase to the loft bedroom, a wonderful space with a nautical theme, super king-size bed and a fabulous en-suite bathroom.

Back on the ground floor you will find the other two bedrooms, a lovely twin with en-suite shower facility and a king-size room with pretty colour schemes, French doors and an en-suite bathroom, each boasting wall-mounted TV's.

From here you can glide out onto the patio and soak in the beautiful hot tub with unique starlit ceiling, take in the delightful ambience seeping from the village and wash away any worries you might have in this fabulous, private setup.

The dining room also has access to outside, as well as the kitchen, a wonderfully appointed suite of stylish units and fittings, occupying an ultra-modern design.

An impressive AGA Rangemaster cooker sits within a chic formation, easing you through your well-earned holiday break.

If you fancy a night off from the cooking, perhaps you might like to try one of the local pubs serving a selection of delicious food; Lowick also offers a range of other amenities right on the doorstep.

You have easy access to Berwick-upon-Tweed and Lindisfarne National Nature Reserve, not to mention Holy Island, a superb destination waiting to be explored along Northumberland's fabulous coastline as well as the Cheviots for hill walking and mountain biking.

This is a wonderful getaway not to be missed!
