It is very clean too. The garden is lovely and the summerhouse is a great addition to the property. It’s also nice to be able to park off the road. The host, Michael, made us feel very welcome and his text notifying us the property was ready early was much appreciated.

  • "Would recommend this property."

Stayed with young family. Very homely and clean. Very well stocked kitchen in terms of utensils, pots, pans etc. Good sized rooms. Warm despite the weather. Good location - quite street but 10 min walk from nearest metro and slightly longer walk to the coast. Handy off-road parking space although plenty of additional on-road parking if required. Would look to see if this place is available when we stay in the area in future. Many thanks for a great stay.

Great garden and summerhouse. Nice double aspect living area with dining table and large TV to enjoy. Well equipped kitchen. Special bonus was the two bikes in the garage that were available to the guests.

  • "A fantastic home from home and extremely comfortable."

Immaculately clean and very well equipped. Perfect size for our requirements. The garden is beautiful, plus the cute summer house you can sit in and I can imagine it would be extremely cosy to use on a cold day with the wood burning fire. So nice having use of the bikes, although on this occasion we didn’t get an opportunity to use them. The welcome pack was really appreciated and Michael was a great host who kept in touch with us and we could with him if we had any queries. We chose this property as we were visiting family close by and we were not disappointed. We look forward to staying again when we return to see our family.

My daughters and I are local and needed somewhere to stay while we had major building work done on our house. This property was spacious, clean, light, comfortable and super convenient. Close to the coast, a morrisons, and transport links to Newcastle. There were welcome provisions provided such as juice, milk and biscuits etc. The hosts were fabulous and we had a very nice fortnight in the beautiful, well looked after house. Highly recommend.

About the location

CULLERCOATS

Tynemouth 1.9 miles; Whitley Bay 1.1 miles; North Shields 2.8 miles; Newcastle-upon-Tyne 9.8 miles

Perched between Tynemouth and Whitley Bay on the North East coast is the urbanised area of Cullercoats. Founded in 1539, the village depended heavily on fishing to support its economy, as well as a local coal mining pit, which was used to fire salt pans to export salt and coal from Cullercoats port. The village is home to unique architecture, including the preserved fishermen's cottages resting along Simpson Street and Victorian terraces which can be found besides the coast. In 1862, Edward Corvan wrote a popular song about the area, titled "The Cullercoats Fish Lass" and American artist, Winslow Home, belonged to the "Cullercoats Colony". In present day, Cullercoats is an idyllic destination for families, due to its long, sandy beach, where you enjoy a dip in the water and a promenade with arcades. Cullercoats offers a plethora of delicious eateries, with its specialty being traditional fish and chips. The village is located just one mine away from both Tynemouth and Whitley Bay.
