  • "Burgage House is being at home with lots of extras."

Cosy and spacious . Plus a perfect English village environment, a short walk from a lovely beach. More spectacular beaches on the coastal drive e g Beadnell and Bamburgh. Strike west for the Cheviots and don’t miss wonderful Ad Gefrin in Wooler. Shop in Alnwick and visit the best bookshop, at the old station for lunch and browsing.

Thank you for your positive comments. We are very pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

  • "Lovely house, beautiful garden that we couldn’t make much use of with the wet weather but would be great in summer."

Really enjoyed our stay. One criticism would be that it’s a shame there isn’t a downstairs loo - would still recommend to family and friends.

Thank you for your positive comments. We agree with you - a downstairs loo would be good! It’s nice to hear you would still recommend the property. Property Owner

  • "Great cottage and a nice holiday."

A few small issues - a tray in the oven needed a soak and clean and it smelled of fish. Generally it was clean but there was a bit of dust here and there. The sofa in the back room looked a bit tired and grubby but it's white/cream which seems a strange choice for a family cottage. These are small niggles, the bathrooms/shower rooms were excellent. Good beds with firm mattresses (I normally leave a cottage with a bad back but not here). Would recommend it to others.

Thank you for your feedback. We think the cleaning issues have been addressed now. There is a new oven, so that should definitely be clean! We are carrying out maintenance and redecoration programme which will, we hope, address the issues you have raised. Thank you for recommending the property, and we hope we may see you again. • "A lovely property in an ideal location."

The property was in need of a deep clean. The front room with the piano smelt musty and damp.We raised 2 issues - firstly the strut underneath the double bed at the back of the property was broken and we raised this immediately on our arrival on the Saturday but it was not fixed until the Wednesday following. Also the curtain rail in the twin room fell down when we closed the curtains and this was reported on the Sunday morning but not fixed until Thursday. The outside barbecue had not been emptied or cleaned so we did not use it. However overall this was a spacious and lovely house and if the issues are resolved we would definitely revisit.

Thank you for bringing these issues to our attention. We are sorry you encountered problems, which could not be addressed immediately. The deep clean could not be carried out until there was a gap in bookings; this has now been done. The temporary repair to the bed strut has also been completed with a new, sturdier strut. Various other maintenance issues have also been addressed and we plan to carry out further work in the spring. We are pleased to hear that you still enjoyed your stay, and we look forward to seeing you again! Property Owner

  • "The property was unclean in parts."

I ran a bath on the first night, the surface of the water was dirty with dust and fluff. The sofa was stained. The bathroom ceiling had a leak that dripped. I am aware this has previously been reported. The utility area contained previous occupants recycling. The property smelt, the windows were filthy.

We are sorry to hear that you encountered problems with the cleaning of the property. These issues have been raised with the agency, and we believe that the cleaning regime is now satisfactory. We hope that your experience did not spoil your visit to Warkworth. Property Owner

It is spacious and very well equipped, and the beds are very comfortable. The children and our dogs love both the house and garden.

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay! Thank you for your feedback. Property Owner

  • "The house is spacious and in a great location in Warkworth, we spent most of the time in the sunroom facing into the lovely garden."

We felt the house was a bit rough around the edges and could do with some upgrading in terms of the decor. The windows were also filthy which made the place feel a bit shabby. The beds were comfy and lots of space for our group which was great, the garden is beautiful and a real sun trap for most of the day.

We are sorry that you encountered problems with the cleanliness of the property. These issues have been raised with the agency and we believe the cleaning regime is now satisfactory. We also have plans for ongoing maintenance and redecoration, so we hope you will find the house more comfortable in the future. We are pleased to hear you enjoyed the garden, and we look forward to seeing you again. Property Owner

  • "House and location were perfect for us."

Had to call and report leak in bathroom ceiling after heavy rain but no evidence of anyone attending so hopefully will e fixed before next guests. Also no one had bothered to put recycling bin out the week before or taken their glass away so this was not very good to discover.

  • "Lovely big house for an extended family stay in a perfect location."

Garden was the best for catching some rays and very doggy friendly, we loved it. Only recommendation is that it could do with a downstairs toilet adding into the large utility room to make it the perfect holiday home.

  • "The location of this property is perfectly situated on a hill with Warkworth Castle overlooking the street."

There are also some great beaches nearby. Recommend Alnmouth beach, a visit to Barter Bookshop, and Newcastle with all its hidden gems is within reach, as well as the usual Northumberland sites, Hadrians Wall, Lindisfarne, Bamburgh Castle etc. The house itself is decievingly big with a lovely big garden. There is 2 living rooms, and a large kitchen/utility room. All the bedrooms are large too. It's a mix of old and new furniture, and there is a piano. Great location for a large family or more than one family to meet up.

We took our dog, sheep free walking from the front door. The beach is 15 minutes by foot and it is a very good beach. The double glazing is excellent. The house is clean, spacious, everything works. The garden is very well maintained. We even found a bucket and spade for sandcastles.
