  • "Highly recommend The Folly, if you value comfort and seclusion for 2 then this is the place for you."

A really generous property for 2 people (which isn't always the case) set on a private estate. All the features and facilities were as described. Great place for all the seasons. Well placed with the village nearby and great access to the coast and county.

  • "The Folly is delightful and unusual , very comfortable and well equipped and set in a large and beautiful estate."

It is a good place for a quiet and peaceful holiday but close to the coast and to Alnwick and Berwick. We had a warm and friendly welcome and appreciated the lovely basket of sandwiches and cakes as well as the wine.

The grounds were beautiful and serene. The owners were very accommodating, and provided a basket of homemade foodstuffs which was appreciated. Would love to return. Cannot recommend highly enough to those who enjoy peace and quiet, and countryside views.

  • "Folly was lovely and by far one of the nicest places we have stayed."

Beautiful welcome package and courtesy visit - even helped us by providing a sheltered place for our bikes. Only thing we felt was that the local information folder inside was really out of date and there wasn’t much info about where you could walk around the estate or where bins etc were (in a week we needed to empty the small kitchen bin. No info about where had to keep bin bag in the hall. No recycling info).

  • "Having used Sykes several times before, we had high expectations of the property and, again, were very pleased with the property and listing."

When we arrived there was a delicious afternoon tea with cake, sandwiches and biscuits and a bottle of Hardy's white wine - delicious and so welcoming! There were bathrobes and slippers for the use of the guests, another extra touch. We love that area of Northumberland and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
