  • "We had a marvellous holiday at Middleton Hall."

It is a stunning house and absolutely enormous; perfect for big family gatherings where everyone wants to be together but also have their own space too. June was very helpful and everything we needed was provided. We were slightly worried from previous reviews that the wifi wouldn’t be great, but in fact there was a strong signal in every room of the house. The location is perfect, just 15 minutes from Bamburgh and Holy Island and it was half an hour to Amble where we hired bikes and cycled the very picturesque route to Alnmouth and back. A bonus was the rapid ev charging point in Belford. We would definitely like to stay at Middleton Hall again!

  • "We are a family of 19 (10 adults, 9 children) who loved our stay at the Hall."

We had plenty of space both inside and outside, despite the storm damage to the grounds. We found the Hall to be very comfortable and the children loved all the nooks & crannies for playing hide & seek. It was great to have a table in the dining hall that was large enough to accommodate us all comfortably.

  • "The Hall and grounds are breathtaking."

June (the owner) is very relaxed and professional. Would 100% recommend for both personal and professional use. The only issue was poor wifi - it was difficult to get signal in the house, so not ideal for working on some networks (especially EE, however O2 and Vodafone seemed OK). June mentioned they are working on this now, though, so check first with her if this will be improved. There are some small items that would have improved the stay - for example, a few of the kitchen implements (peeler, scissors, etc) that could be renewed! Otherwise, it was a perfect stay in the most scenic location and so close to some picturesque sites in Bamburgh, Lindisfarne, Alnwick, etc. Really a showstopper of a place and phenomenal value for money. I will definitely be going again!

  • "There showers were very intermitant wether we got hot water or not, even not at peak times."

It was advertised as having internet this was not the case it picked up the hall internet if you were stood next to the receiver but even then it wasn't strong enough to do anything with a number of guests were supposed to attend online meetings whilst we were away and couldn't get online. My grandson needed to chat with his learning difficulty lady and wasn't able to get online. The main cooker in the large kitchen was very slow to cook anything meals took twice as long to cook. which meant the first few nights we didn't eat until 9pm.

  • "We enjoyed a wonderful week in this amazing property and it’s surroundings."

The house was well equipped with everything we needed and the owners were on hand to deal with any questions we had. The property is situated in a perfect location from which to explore the surrounding countryside and the beautiful beaches nearby. Understandably we were unable to use the snooker room owing to Covid restrictions which was disappointing, but did not spoil our stay. WiFi connectivity was limited as mentioned in the property description, and this was an issue for one of our party who had to unexpectedly undertake some work during the week. We would not hesitate to recommend this property to others & would like to thank the owners for a most enjoyable and relaxing stay.

  • "The owner was very welcoming, gave a lovely tour of her home and then left us to our celebrations."

She couldnt have been a better host. The house was magnificent and ideal for our party celebrations over the week. Great facilities, comfortable and warm and charming and picturesque setting. We will definitely return for another week.

  • "A warm welcome to a very grand holiday 'cottage' set in delightful surroundings!"

Unbelievable amount of space - the entrance hall is larger than a badminton court and the dining table could easily seat 24. Our party of 15 adults was accommodated with ease. Exceptionally comfortable and attractive furnishings and decor. Kept beautifully clean and warm - especially so for such a large building. Masses of space for car-parking. Very easy to follow directions from A1, north of Alnwick. Plenty of interesting places to visit within and hour's drive or bus ride.
