  • "This property is a great base for exploring the Nothumberland Coast Path, with a gorgeous garden."

It would have been nice to have some milk in the flat when we arrived - but there is a well supplied Co-op within walking distance. Other than this minor quibble - the flat was one of the best equipped and supplied places we have stayed. The property is on a busy road, and you need to reverse into the parking area - which requires patience to wait for a space in the traffic to make this safe.

  • "Lovely property which was exceptionally well equipped."

Great location opposite the beach. Plenty of places to visit nearby. Would definitely recommend.

  • "Well maintained property in an ideal situation."

Only having one toilet in the shower room caused an occasional issue. The advertised plug in for an electric car was not available for use. Contacted the owner who said it should not have been advertised. Not a huge problem as we drive a plug in hybrid but could have been an issue for an all electric car. Nearby pubs were excellent for food. Would stay again as the place was spotless and well maintained.

The property is as stated; roomy, comfortable, clean and well kitted out. Thank you to David, the owner, and Sykes. Next time we must try and get some better weather.

  • "Only one problem you advertised two bathrooms but the property only has one with toilet and sink the other one is just a bath, no toilet or sink so you really can't call it two bathrooms."

  • "A gorgeous apartment!"

Spacious yet cosy, and very well equipped. The road is noisey but not a problem with earplugs, and I didn’t hear any noise from upstairs. The mattresses are slightly soft, but comfortable enough, and the space heated up quickly once the heating controls were adjusted. I spent a very comfortable week here and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. A great base for exploring the coast.

It is as always a pleasure that you enjoyed your stay in my home. The village of Seaton Sluice is a hidden gem and I'm pleased you enjoyed the North East. Property Owner

  • "It was a return visit because we were so happy 1st time - very clean as usual, comfortable and very well equipped with the essentials ."

Very pleasant garden to sit in on a nice day or evening. Tried gas fire as it was chilly one evening. Got it to light but it wouldn't stay on - no instruction book. We like the area also because it is relatively flat for us oldies!! Durham city is far from flat but there is a park&ride off M1and there is a bus to the cathedral from the market place which makes it easy! A beautiful place and a must to visit. The Melton Constable pub on the island is very good for food and very reasonable - the staff are very pleasant and helpful too - closed on Monday

Thank you very much about your comment. I fully understand your feelings about the gas fire it is difficult to get started at times. It is a problem and I will be replacing it in the very near future, once I get an opportunity to spend time in my own home :) Hopefully if you return again you will notice a difference with the gas fire. There are many fine pubs in the village, the Melton Constable being one of them. Property Owner

  • "Lovely flat."

Excellent location. Well equipped and beautiful garden. The only downside was lack of curtains in front bedroom as the sun woke us up at 4.30am. We misunderstood the advert thinking that there was 2 full bathrooms (2 toilets) but this didn't spoil our stay.

Thank you for your comments I hope the early sunrise didn't spoil your stay. I fully understand your comments about the curtains during the summer months it is something I got use too. However, I will over this winter period review the possibility of fitting curtains again. Yes there is only one toilet. Property Owner

We still have family and in Seaton Sluice so I was delighted to find this property so close. The location is perfect for long walks with the beach and close to some lovely pubs. The accommodation was better than expected with many home from home comforts and finished to a high standard. The garden out the back was amazing and I don’t know how you managed it but every day was sunny … will definitely be back.

Thank you very much. I am very pleased you enjoyed your stay. It is a beautiful location and I can testify to those lovely pubs all 6. I'll have to find out who use to live at No.19. Property Owner

  • "Had problems with heating for first 3 days, we were cold and couldn't override controls to improve."

On 2 occassions we had no hot water. You will note we had to ring you to get owners help. When he rang he was on holiday and wasn't able to talk us through procedure. Said he would get his daughter to come round next day, mid morning we got you to contact him again as daughter had not arrived. Turns out she was in bed with a hangover, dont know when, if at all she would have come. We were spoiling our day waiting in, cold and no hot water. When we pushed the owner he got aggressive. Didnt seem to want to disturb his daughter and talked about sending his mother round, finally said he would send his brother round. The brother came and eventually sorted. All very upsetting and spoiled our stay.Owner not at all customer focused. We deserve a partial refund really.

Beautiful well maintained garden to sit in for an evening drink when nice weather. Central heating needs adjusting for the cooler climate (it was rather complicated) especially with such large rooms/high ceilings, also winter duvets/blankets Will certainly be returning. And Thank-you Lydia for giving up time with your family to help us - bless you!

Thank you very much for your feedback and I am really pleased you enjoyed your stay. I am always trying to improve things positively and I understand your feelings concerning the heating controls. I am constantly trying to simplify the controls use, hopefully in the future when you return you will see an improvement. Property Owner
