  • "Arriving after a very long drive, it was so nice to be welcomed by a clean, comfortable, homely property where the hosts had thought of everything."

There were so many little touches like freshly baked food, milk and eggs. The bed was one of the most comfortable I've slept on. The local area was nice for a walk and also had a pub nearby that did some delicious food. Our daughter (6 years old) loved the stay and we enjoyed playing some of the games that were available in the lounge. After a day in Edinburgh, we were driving back to the property but got caught in a storm - all roads to Morebattle were blocked by fallen trees. Having spent the night in the car and returning to the property by 6am, our hosts told us there was no need to worry about checking out on time - a very kind gesture, thanks.

The information in the property could be updated to let people know about the longer hours of the local community shop - this is a great resource for the community and it's good when people on holiday can contribute as well, so knowing that it was open to 4pm ad not just lunchtime would have been useful.

When we arrived at The Granary and settled in, my husband said - how did you find such a wonderful place? It was really far beyond what we had expected - though the photographs on-line do show it accurately, the reality was so much better. It was warm and welcoming and our hosts Cath & Roger Henderson had included so many lovely touches... charming Xmas decorations and a Xmas card welcoming us! Fresh bread, milk and eggs etc, and a plateful of delicious homemade mincepies! Everything one could need was provided, we were SO comfortable there.
