  • "Fabulous cottage, we had everything we needed."

Very warm and comfortable. The shower was very inviting until you switched it on, there was little flow, I assume due to lower pressure. The grass was very long which with a sausage dog who could hardly be seen outside

Thank you for your feedback. We were in the bungalow ourselves the week before you arrived. With the amount of rain the area has had, the grass area has been saturated. Our gardener couldn’t get to do it….Sorry! Owner. Property Owner

  • "Really lovely place."

No complaints. Worked out really well for our family. My youngest wants to go back. Was very impressed with all of the amenities in the home. Most holiday stays you are short on basic kitchen items. Very nice welcome basket and very comfortable beds. Lot of extra effort and quality/costs put into the home instead of buying basic items.

  • "We had a great time in a modern, clean and comfy Lodge, it is rural, as the listing says, but many attractions are with in a short drive."

Just take plenty of supplies. The only thing that spoilt it a little was that the lawn had not been cut so the garden was a mess and the black dust bin was full, we ended up bringing our rubbish home. On the last morning we woke up to a power cut, not the Lodges fault, but it meant we had to leave with out our morning coffee or being able to run round with the hoover as we normally would. Are power cuts a regular occurrence? if so a battery hoover may be a good idea. Would stay again in the same place.

Thank you for your feedback. The grass was cut on the 17th June, as we were there ourselves. It should have been cut, my neighbour did inform me it hadn’t. If it had been a major issue, then our management team should have been contacted. Hopefully we have a new gardener . We kindly ask if guests would present the bins, if they are there on the dates of collection, as per the collection calendar. Bins should have been put out for collection on 3rd July. I am sorry this happened, but we do have to rely on the guests. As for power cuts, only recently there has been an issue, but was assured by Scottish power it had been fixed, again I can only say sorry this happened. Judith/Owner Property Owner

Extremely well appointed with everything you might need. A large enclosed garden was ideal for our miniature schnauzer. Ideally placed for interesting towns and beauty spots. We spent an extremely happy week at the property and would recommend it as a Borders property to anyone.

  • "This holiday home has been absolutely perfect for us, very clean, well equipped (it has everything you need, description doesn’t list everything it has) and in such a quiet and peaceful area, at night you can only hear your own heartbeat!"

In great location for exploring Scottish Borders and Northumberland. Great garden for the dog to run around in as well, we’ve had a lovely weather through the entire 2 weeks so we did a lot of al fresco dining. There’s a BBQ in the shed although we brought our own as we didn’t know one was provided. The only issue was the bins, dates provided were all wrong and when we arrived, the black bin was half full and it hasn’t been emptied despite us following instructions. So this needs to get looked at as I couldn’t find any info online on Scottish Borders council website as this address isn’t on there. Overall we have had a wonderful stay though. Thank you

Thank you very much for your lovely feedback. We are so sorry you had an issue with the bin and collection dates. We will definitely try to sort this issue out as we are up at the lodge from 1/10. There is a calendar on the “borders gov” website which we are supposed to follow, this I will print off and place in folder. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We hope you had a lovely holiday. Judith Owner Note... There has been strikes with bin collection in the Borders! Property Owner

  • "Sadly the heating and hot water wasn't working until Tuesday afternoon, so we were left chasing Sykes and the Cleaning Company to get help to resolve the matter."

Numerous phone calls and emails and speaking to the site contractor meant that the heating system was repaired but it was set so low that it only worked when the heating engineer tested it on the Tuesday. As this was so stressful it really took the shine off our holiday, yet it was a beautiful wee house. The area was a little lacking in things to do if the weather was poor, which it was last week. We left the cottage a day early as we were cold and feeling quite depressed by how the heating issue had been handled and the lack if response from Sykes and the cottage owner.

We are sorry that there was an electrical fault with the Heating/water system. As we were notified on Sunday, obviously nothing could be sorted until Monday morning. Personally, to have everything back to normal by Tuesday morning, was extremely good service by the heating company. However, this problem would have only affected the hot tap water. There is a walk in Electric shower, there is a Dishwasher and kettle! There are two mobile electric thermostatic radiators, one in each bedroom, should you wish to use them. Plus numerous throws & blankets. Our lovely bungalow is in the countryside and we do state that the nearest shops are roughly 6 miles away, with other amenities slightly further. I’m extremely sorrow that we couldn’t foresee the weather for you as well. Thank you for your feedback. Owner Property Owner
