“This cottage is listed as a 4 star but it did not come up to the expectations that we have had with Sykes Cottages before.”

The cottage needs updating urgently, the carpets were worn and dirty, the furniture was uncomfortable so were the beds, the sheets were bobbley and rough so were the towels. In fact the cottage smelt like someone had been smoking in there on a regular basis and this was very unpleasant. The cooking utensils were old and well used and need replacing. It's a shame as this little cottage is in a good location in Morpeth but we would not use it again.

Thank you for your feedback though we are sorry to read your comments, if we had been aware of any issues during your stay we would have been happy to try and assist. With regards to the carpet, we can confirm this is being replaced shortly. The comfort of furniture can be subjective but we do regular checks and inspect the properties ourselves on each change over. We can also confirm that the property is a strictly no smoking property so not sure how a smell of smoke was detected. We have a very busy property and take great pride in it so we are sad to read your comments. - Sykes owner relations
