The property

A beautifully decorated, cosy cottage with wood burning stove set in the heart of the Scottish Borders which are steeped in history and with beautiful, gently rolling, unspoiled landscape all around.

Small towns characterise the region, each with their own unique history and heritage including four spectacular Abbeys in Jedburgh, Kelso, Melrose and Dryburgh, all within 20 minutes of the cottage.

Number Four Cottage is a delightful 19th Century red sandstone cottage, situated just off the A698 between Jedburgh (2 miles) and Kelso (8 miles).

There are great walks on your doorstep including walks along the famous St Cuthberts Way, Borders Abbey Way, and Deer Street.

The River Teviot is only five minutes walk away and there is also a golf driving range close by.

There are many restaurants in the region including the award winning Caddy Man Restaurant is within walking distance.

The cottage with exposed beams and barn doors throughout is beautifully decorated using a mixture of traditional Farrow and Ball colours and contemporary textiles.

The historic town of Jedburgh is a small, quiet town lying 10 miles inside the Scottish Border, situated halfway between Newcastle upon Tyne and Edinburgh. Set amidst the stunning countryside of the Borders, Jedburgh has much to offer visitors. There are charming shops, pubs and award-winning, family-run restaurants to enjoy nearby, as well as historic attractions such as the fascinating Jedburgh Castle Jail, Mary Queen of Scots House and the imposing abbey, which towers over the town and dates back to 1138. Great fishing can be enjoyed on the Teviot, Tweed and Jed Rivers and there are 21 excellent golf courses to choose from. The Borders also offer some superb walking and cycling over breathtaking hillsides or amongst the enchanting Border Forests, and along St Cuthbert's Way, a 62 mile trail between Melrose and Lindisfarne, which passes Harestanes Countryside Visistor Centre. The towns of Melrose, Kelso and Peebles are just a short drive away and are a joy to explore at leisure.
