The delightful village of Newton on the Moor is set in rural Northumberland, between Morpeth to the south and Alnwick to the north. The village has an excellent pub/restaurant, The Cook and Barker which serves good quality fare. It is just 6 miles from Alnwick, with its castle and garden, and features Europe's largest cascading water feature, an enormous tree house, a rose garden and an ornamental walled garden. The castle is also famous as the setting for Hogwarts School featured in the Harry Potter films. Alnwick offers a good selection of shops, pubs and places to eat. There is plenty to see and do near Newton-on-the Moor, including miles of golden sandy beaches, numerous castles and boat trips to the famous Farne Islands.
